This is my first attempt at surrealism…not all together sure that it works…but I sure had some fun trying. I started out with an ink wash that I had done, and selected different parts of it, then played with layers and opacity . I then added the sky from an image I had….the 4WD and birds.

This was my only sighting of a blue bird in my entire life as a professional photographer. It became my BLUE BIRD OF HAPPINESS. I captured this bird in the wild at Blue Field Ranch SW coner of St Lucie Co Ft Pierce Fla. Photographed with my 1000mm a few 100 yards away I rested my lense on a fence post. I was photographing for St Lucie Co at the time for shots to be used to purchase endangered lands for Environmenta Lands Equizition. Which did get purchased and I was glad to be part of . Since then great strides have been made we now have 24 areas in the County for public Natural Areas & Preserves, and 25 & 26 in the making to be opened this year. People from every where come to visit thouands of acres each day all over the County since.
We found this quaint little hotel in Campbell River, and the people are just fantastic there. They have 3 of my eagle pictures there, to try and sell them for me. So, for this I am donating this picture to them to hang in their lobby! / And, some fish also, the lady is a chef, and she loves the word fresh! :) / The name of the hotel is, ” Heron’s Landing”.

Shot looking down Swaledale, the light bouncing off the mountain tops, long shadows, the classic view of the North Yorkshire dales, stone barns, stonewalled fields and a river cutting through the steep sides of the valley.. all a product of historical changes that lead to continued riots on and off from the 15th century till late 1800’s. The various Enclosure Acts created the English landscape we see today and despite it’s beauty, it is worth remembering the often bloody poverty and power hungry history that created it.
This was taken at Dead Horse Sate Park in Cottonwood AZ . / with a Nikon D90 . / /

Etching, zinc plate / Aquatint / Inked up in blue/black / Edition of 16 The idea for the design came from a number of pathology results. They used to be faxed in and each morning i would gather the faxes and be fascinated by the designs of nature. My design combined about 5 different thyroid pathology results.
