The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by SBC, painting, and drawing. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda. It won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007.

Blue Clams from Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Indian Ocean Territories, Australia. This has been my most successful print to date. It won the Open Colour Section of the York Society Photography Awards 2008, a Highly Commended in the Melville Art Awards 2008 and a Highly Commended in the ANZANG Nature Photography Awards 2008, Underwater category. I think the abstract nature appeals to people? Canon 5D, ISO 400, f8, AV MODE, 24-105MM L Series Canon Lens / Handheld, no flash, Auto White Balance.

I took this shot on Bell Island, if you look closely at the base of the cliff you can see a natural tunnel that has been bored through the rock by the water and out to the other side. Late afternoon sun going down and standing on the reverse side of the Causeway to Granite Island South Australia. The light shining through under the structure from the setting sun was quite vibrant especially with the backdrop of a brooding winters sky. I know I have many images of this on my site but I just love the way it changes with every visit. Plus having my fathers ashes spread off the Causeway makes this a special place to visit. HDR merge of three images within photoshop.
