This pretty thing landed on my arm.. And stayed for a bit. I got the camera then it flew to a flower and waited. I had to resort to hand hold again.. No time for tripod. I took a cluster of shots.. Found this one that was not too bad.. He flew from one place to the next.. and of course I ran after it. He did give me a real close up face.. But it is not tack sharp so I shall play with it.. enjoy This Makes A Great Card For A Friend

  • Midnight Blues
    by Karin Taylor

    US$4.70–US$125.40

Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / Midnight Blues is from a painting i did recently on Arches Aquarelle Paper 56×76cm, a mixed media production, utilising inks, pastels, acrylics, charcoals, found objects such as string and fabric….and the most beautiful gold paint which gives the guitar it’s lustre BOATS & BIRDS by Gregory and the Hawk If you be my star / I’ll be your sky / you can hide underneath me and come out at night / when I turn jet black and you show off your light / I live to let you shine / I live to let you shine but you can skyrocket away from me / and never come back if you find another galaxy / far from here with more room to fly / just leave me your stardust to remember you by if you be my boat / I’ll be your sea / a depth of pure blue just to probe curiosity / ebbing and flowing and pushed by a breeze / I live to make you free / I live to make you free but you can set sail to the west if you want to / and past the horizon till I can’t even see you / far from here where the beaches are wide / just leave me your wake to remember you by if you be my star / I’ll be your sky / you can hide underneath me and come out at night / when I turn jet black and you show off your light / I live to let you shine / I live to let you shine but you can skyrocket away from me / and never come back if you find another galaxy / far from here with more room to fly / just leave me your stardust to remember you by / stardust to remember you by Midnight Blues is from the Inspired Series by Karin Taylor, during the painting of this, i was strongly influenced by one of my favourite songs “Boats and Birds” by Gregory and the Hawke, as well as my favourite Australian artist, Brett Whitely, longing to capture something of the wonderful curves he created in his works. It has a dark and sombre feeling, much like how i was feeling at the time i created her. I used to laugh and carry on that my thoughts and my moods could ever be conveyed through a painting, and it was just silly that people reckoned they did so, but just look at me now….i cannot seem to prevent it happening these days!! lol…that’ll teach me to scoff :)

  • Glass Lake – N.Y.

  • Fairy Bug
    by Amanda J Slack-Smith

    US$3.85–US$102.60

A series I worked on in 2001. A coincidence of moments – a few days after talking to a friend about the old pin the bug science experiments we used to do in school I came across the Squished Fairy Book a children’s’ book about a girl who collects fairies in a scrap book by squishing them between the pages of her book. Loved it and decided to play around with the two ideas together. Interestingly when I first exhibited them I was abused by some of the gallery patrons for the ‘nasty’ ‘horrible’ work which ‘they would never have on their walls’.

  • Butterflies
    by Basia McAuley

    US$3.99–US$106.40

I’m bored, have a head cold and I’m stuck at home so I had to try and use my imagination with what I had around the house! I don’t know if I’ll keep this one up, I want to try and perfect it. It’s actually just a water drop on top of a tiny bougainvillea flower.. This can give you an idea of how tiny this actually is! Ohh, and this has not received any post processing.

  • "Fly"
    by carrysmith

    US$5.70

These beautiful butterflies are Ulysses. All of them are male. I just saw the blue and fawn colour together on something and then came up with these butterflies in a rainforest setting which is their natural habitat. I think the two colours work well together. I get inspired alot by colour and the combination of colours together. I saw alot of these butterflies in nature where I grew up as a child in Weipa Queensland, Australia. They are just so magnificent in real life. I could never take my eyes of them. The original oil on canvas measures 60×90cm and has sold. • The butterflys
    by Deri Dority

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Tropical butterflys, not native to Oregon. These came from Costa Rica. Because they are not native to Oregon, they can’t release them at the end of the display. Because the Portland Zoo is not outfitted to support them year round, they destroy them when the season is over.

  • Inchworm
    by scarlettcat

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Most people have cats or dogs as pets, but not this little miss. She’s adores insects and has made friends with a darling little blue caterpillar. The name ‘inchworm’ is from a song in the 1952 film, Hans Christian Anderson – which I’m fairly sure was redone by the Muppets. :) ..................♥ the fine print ♥…...............
