  • Took this on Stockton Bight, a long series of sand dunes that stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. These traps were placed to protect Williamtown air base (I believe) during World War II. 26km or so of these, 2m high concrete reinforced pyramids, and now all you can find is this small group, situated in a sand blow. Even they come and go depending on the wind. We took a tour from Anna bay, to see the tank traps, tin city and the wreck of the Sygma(?) I think the tank traps were the highlight for me OTHER NEW ZEALAND / FROGS / LENSBABY / INFRARED / BEACH / SPAM / PANORAMAS / LANDSCAPES / INDUSTRIAL

  • If you squish your brain enough into the right shape the windows and the greeny wall colour may remind you of a particular painter…..:)

  • Captured along my travels, a part of Victoria that just keeps growing. This is my kind of landscape, I feel at home amongst the concrete and steel. • Driving along today I spotted this container, so had to go back home and get my camera! I have no idea what the chinese words say, but I can hazard a guess. I was drawn in by the clean strong lines created by the late afternoon sun contrasting with the grungy rusty bits down below. More in this series: /

  • Oil

  • Acrylic on Canvas 1m x 1m. This started out as a self portrait, bright and happy like many of my figurative works, but as I continued I was thinking of the concept of authenticity. Suddenly I was squirting charcoal paint over the canvas. My subconscious took over from the conscious. I am so excited about this work. I feel it to be unconventional in regards to my usual style, although I haven’t yet settled on a specific style. This work has inspired me to go on a quest into the realms of the landscapes of the mind and soul and explore the archeypes of humanity. I feel I am about to embark on an exciting journey. Sold to a collector in Texas. Enjoy, comment freely and all my thanks as always – Carmen ; ) (PLEASE VIEW LARGER VERSION… ENJOY THE SYMBOLS & INTERPRET AT YOUR LEISURE)

We need to change; we need to look at what we’re doing to the global fish stocks & work out a better way to manage & sustain the resources available to us. / Also available as a T-shirt. / Like the sale sign says, when they’re gone, they’re gone!!!!! / /

  • 1070 views as of November 2009 Once again a collaboration with the amazing, J-Chans Designs (Model Mayhem #542467). This woman is amazingly talented. She designed the costume, the wig and did the makeup. I can’t wait to work with her again! And the incredibly gorgeous model is Elizabeth Maiden (Model Mayhem#401472) This is just a taste of more to come!!!! It was an incredibly successful shoot. And my first outdoor photo shoot in a long time at a very neat location. It’s an old building near an industrial park near my house which burned down a year or so ago. What’s left is a metal and concrete shell. It made for a great setting. I’m so happy about this shoot! This image was featured on the HomePage of RedBubble! Also see: / © Jessica Walker 2009
