This was taken at the 7000 foot level South West of Mount Lassen in North Eastern CA in August of 2007; I wanted to try something a bit different and my love for “The Blues” just took over. I love the different layers you can see from up that high. And believe me being up there is a “natural high”!

Pendle Witch Country, in the Lancashire Pennines, is an area lying between (but also including) the north western edge of Bronte Country and the Ribble Valley, to the north and north east of which are Bowland, and the south western Yorkshire Dales respectively. The area is dominated by the dark brooding mass of Pendle Hill (shown above) and made famous (nay infamous) for its grim and fiendish association with the “Witches of Pendle”...

And then the arrival on the Jungfraujoch, in the heart of a glorious glacier world on the very roof of Europe! Superb views extend as far as the summits of the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany. The Great Aletsch Glacier, at 22 km the longest ice-stream in the Alps, begins on the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe.

Background Information: / Peyto Lake is a glacier-fed lake located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. The lake itself is easily accessed from the Icefields Parkway. It was named for Ebenezer William Peyto, an early trail guide and trapper in the Banff area. The lake is formed in a valley of the Waputik Range, between Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak and Mount Jimmy Simpson, at an elevation of 1,860 m (6,100 ft). During the summer, significant amounts of glacial rock flour flow into the lake, and these suspended rock particles give the lake a bright, turquoise color. Because of its bright color, photos of the lake often appear in illustrated books, and area around the lake is a popular sightseeing spot for tourists in the park. The lake is best seen from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefield Parkway. I began to climb when we got the region..And then, I climbed around 5000 ft.. Then the mist began.. So I had to stop climbing cause it was getting risky and I dont like making mistakes “in purpose”.. I waited around 10 mins but saw the mist was coming up on me.. So I gave up and decided to go back down.. :)) This time it didnt want me to climb.. So I got back and after 5 mins, storm began with the wind.. :(( (anyways, I did the right ) / In this week we will try again and again… Although we get the forecast from the satellite, it doesnt somehow match (or it changes too fast) :)) I keep posting them in serie :) / This one is one of the first shots when I got to region.. / Well I keep trying :)) TAke Care All :)) / Region Arhavi -TURKEY

3200 ISO is a brave new world for me. As a self confessed low ISO junkie, one who used Ektar 25 film whenever and wherever he could for many years because I wanted tight grain, the tighter the better, I would pull out all the stops I could to use that amazing ISO 25 film! For sure I’d never gone above ISO 1000 and then only to shoot indoor sporting events. Low ISO was(?) a hang-up for me! But I wanted to try astral photography and high ISO can get you there! However as we all know high ISO leads to increased noise which is something fairly new to me. You can use software and Photoshop plugins but I’ve been considering, one way to control noise would be to minimize or eliminate it by keeping the ISO as low as possible and that’s one way I‘m leaning. So in that regard it looks like a fast 50 prime is in order! It’s fun to be experimenting and learning, eh! Great Smoky Mountains National Park has water falls in many places. When its hot, people head for the hills of the Smokies. / Cool breezes and water. Swimming, fishing, hiking, and driving trails near by. Shop till you drop in Gatlinburg, and walk your dog if he is well behaved. All kinds of things to do and see, good old Tennessee. Piegon Forge is nearby, I know you like to eat, well I couldn’t name them all. Make fun at the way people talk, come on down yeu all. Maybe you haven’t been here yet, watch out for those curvey roads. One of the most visited parks in the good old USA. GSMNP has a tremendous diversity of plant life. Many people document it or just enjoy it. Rhododendron in bloom around the falls, this gorgous shrub is easily seen because it grows well on exposed ridges at 3,000 to 6,000 feet elevation. They grow 8-12 ft. high.and one of the first I added to my garden, along with the natural ones in the woods. They bloom in June and July in the Park, and about a months difference here later. / Oil on canvas JeffeeArt4u

The peak of the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. Such an incredible sight passing under the bridge in the late afternoon, to the silhouettes of the climbers all waving to us as we sailed back into Sydney on our cruise.
