This was taken at Appletree Cottage, Oakbank, in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia. It was taken in Autumn and in the late afternoon. Three shots were merged with Photomatix Pro and tone mapping. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera.

The Moon is in the closest orbit tonight, or Perigee, very close to the Earth and very BIG. Can’t see it here in the mts. because we are getting snow, so total cloud cover obscures it, however, I made this creation in the Moon’s honour anyway.. ;-) This is a 9 layer HDR and Infrared image with other added elements. Very complicated, not the best, but a lot of fun anyway..;-) This is ‘proper digital infrared’ shot through my camera.

HDR MUCH BETTER VIEWED LARGER It is easily reached by public transport or car from the Sydney CBD. Balmoral Beach / In the vicinity of Balmoral Beach are restaurants, beautiful houses and expensive yachts. It’s an ideal place for a quick swim and takeaway fish and chips at sunset. In fact, its the type of beach where you can take your rollerblades, dog, bike, sailboard and football, or just a picnic basket. The middle area of the beach is graced with a classic footbridge across the sand to a tree-covered outcrop. A section is protected by a shark net. Head to the northern tip of the beach where you’ll find a small, shady park behind an old club building. From here, a short walk through the streets or around the rocks will take you to Chinamans Beach. You can hire sailboards & Balmoral Boatshed offers tuition. Next to the boatshed are the swimming baths, enclosed by shark nets and a wide boardwalk. At Balmoral beach you can take a ferry from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo or Mosman Wharf and take the bus to the village of Mosman. You can discover nearby Taronga Zoo, and enjoy the breathtaking harbour views at the world’s only harbourside zoo. Swim at Balmoral Beach, one of Sydney Harbour’s best, followed by fish and chips on the beach. Relax at The Spit waterfront recreation area with marinas, restaurants and canoe hire, or join a local kayak tour. Balmoral features Balmoral and Edwards Beaches, both of which are separated by the outcrop of Rocky Point. Both beaches are usually referred to as simply Balmoral. The locality has views across the entrance to Middle Harbour to North Head, Manly, and Clontarf. The harbour beaches face north east and is sheltered from ocean swell by Middle Head. The entire beach is listed on the Register of the National Estate as the ‘Balmoral Beach Conservation Area’.[2] The conservation area includes the promenade, the esplanade, the Rotunda and the Bathers’ Pavilion, which date back to the 1930s. This is pure HDR generated from 5 bracketted images This shot was taken at Newport Wharf which is located on the shores of Pittwater north of Sydney. Easily accessable by car or public transport. Its the kind of place where you can wind down at the end of the day with a cold beer or a glass of Australian Chardonnay and watch the sun set in the west.. BETTER VIEWED LARGER The highest lookout in the Blue Mountains approximately 1100 metres above sea level. This lookout gives magnificent views over the Hartley Valley, as well as views of Lithgow. Here you can sit and contemplate wath the sunrise and sunset. The shot is the result of 5 bracketted images shot with a Nikon D300 and Sigma 10-20mm lens

THIS IS A BIG IMAGE VIEW LARGER FOR BEST RESULTS This shot was taken from Echo Point in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area at sunset, it was created from 4 bracketed images using a Nikon D300 fitted with a Nikon 18-200mm. No filters were used. The Blue Mountains are located 2 hours west of Sydney by road, also by train for visitors to Sydney, there are also organised day trips via motor coach that will take you to the area for the day…. though if you have the time spend a few days in the area. You can see all the attractions, have a devonshire tea in one of the many teahouses, or sit on the edge of the valley that seems to go on forever, and listen to the birdlife. Bushwalking is a must !

A late evening view from the cliffs above Mutton Cove, looking across to the historic ex Royal Navy’s – Royal William Victualling Yard and the Devil’s Point. The island past the breakwater, at the end of Jennycliff Bay is the Great Mew Stone. The luxury yachts are moored on the entrance to Stonehouse Creek.
