Here is the image following ‘Red Ribbon’. My little girl worked out how to open the heavy back gate and thought she could escape into the big park at the back of our new house. I decided to add this image to satisfy the curiosity of everyone who wanted to know what she saw through the hole in the gate!

Created from a photograph, a painting, several semi-transparent layers, and some photoshop techniques. This is my first artwork that really communicates my child-like fascination with life. I’ve been driving myself nuts trying to find a song that fits this piece. Turns out the perfect song is one I listen to every day. / Field Of Innocence by Evanescence. There is such a delicate sadness to it, a longing for a return to a more innocent time. Artistic style of this piece inspired by Tim Burton Info for Sold! Group / Sold a small matted print to a mystery buyer / Sold 2 mounted prints to an RB member. / Sold 2 small laminated prints.
In this design I was playing around with the concept of how people judge one another. I chose to do this in a paint-by-numbers style so that at first glance, people have no choice but to judge where which colors go. The purpose of which is to prove them wrong. / I tried this on several people, most of which assumed she had a pink shirt and blue eyes and blond hair, which is partially right, but not quite. / A person has to get to know this shirt before they realize she has pink and blue hair. At which point, they know her true colors. / This shirt is a physical representation of the personal judgments we make on others, especially those who appear different. This is what the image would actually look like if she were colored in. / special thanks to johnston photography and Loriel Andre’a for their help and professionalism in my artistic process! © This work is copyright by Nadine Smith 2008 under Australian law. / Please respect original works
Meg had fun posing, and Nanna had fun with the processing! Created with two photos and a few layers. Extracted the background from the legs, desaturated the colours, overlaid a photo of a texture and blended the background image through. Summer Breeze a beautiful poem by the same title by a dear friend of mine Anne Van Alkemade / Inspired by the song Summer Breeze / by Seals and Croft Also inspired by myself and my experience of having bugs and insects come to try and take up residence in my ears… scrabbling around in there, getting all comfy…while I’m going crazy…click beetles, houseflies and spiders so far have all tried this… lol This is a girl who has an affinity with nature, and as the summer breezes begin to blow here in Australia…....the animals are drawn to live in her hair thinking that it must be branches of a tree… yes, my hair’s that dry… :) I thought it a fitting one for summer, hope you like her… Pencil drawing took me about 3 hours / Digital colouring – 10 hours / Total time 13 hours
Painting by Dorina Costras / Acrylic on canvas / 54/58 cm / Original for sale __________ “The leaves grown dark / By the autumn wind fall / Cover the ground, / Cover your body, / The wrapping of your being / That hides your true ego. / The warm dew of your eyes flows, / Nothing is there to wait for her, / It gets lost in the void, / Nothing needs their torpor. / Glitter in the sun / That passes through your body / And immerses it in candid dazzle, / The night is coming, the Orient is dancing, / Whirling in his veils, voluptuous dance / Wraps the world. / .And the wood that contains you, / Oh my goddess. And all is mystery, / Possible enigma, incomprehensible fear.” Gothica – The Pure Nymph lyrics
