/ Flambe is part of the Series “Pears”...in this series I have painted Pears in every conceivable way..this particular piece is inspired by dessert…an abstract impression of pears flambe... You will find Pears in my entire body of work and they appear over and over in every collection...I love painting them… Watercolour on Textured Arches Paper..I textured the paper with sand prior to painting… Melt butter with brown sugar in a heavy nonstick skillet over medium heat. Sauté pears and cinnamon 4-5 minutes or until pears begin to soften. Stir in lime juice and rum. When liquid starts to simmer, keeping face and body away from skillet, ignite quickly with a lit match. When flames subside, remove from heat. Serve with ice cream. /
