‘Asian Series’ TShirt by Karin Taylor Catch of the Day is a sweet little painting done in mixed media…using ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels. I had so much fun creating this little character, and dressing her in a fur coat and beanie. She is being drawn along by her dolphin friend and a butterfly has thought to come visit too. Catch of the Day was inspired by a children’s book I used to read to my children when they were little, my brother gave it them. This is a red pen and ink drawing of “Adidda Primal” It was unknowingly inspired by a story that a friend pinkyjain told me about how adidda’s ar made with Kangaroo skins. I guess the story stuck because this came out the other night while scribbling. So it is what it is and I hope the story effects you as much as it did me. I have never afforded adiddas but now I never will!

Pilgrimage is about our passage through life, the boat represents the vehicle by which we travel, the wise animal represents the voice of wisdom, the crown speaks of how special each individual is. Pearls represent the tears of the moon and remind us that life may not be easy and we all struggle. The daisies are for simplicity. / The bindi represents spiritual insight.

To be part of the gang, I needed to accomplished a great task. / They have asked me to kill my best friend, and unless I did it, I would never become an adult. / I have known him for 8 years. / They wanted me to kill him. / I didn’t want to do it. / But they were laughing at me, and called me chiken. / I borrowed mum’s knife and took a deep breath. and I did it. and I cried. It is not so great to be an adult.
