If you look closely (in the “large” view) you’ll notice that some of the black spots are actually ants. Summer 2007 – Rotterdam, NY / One of my girlfriend’s parents purchased a home that was owned by a Master Gardener and neither of them gardened. They asked me to come and tell them what their plants were, thin some out and feel free to photograph them. After a few hours, I had enough plants to fill half my garden and had filled up my photo cards, not to mention I couldn’t help but trim one of their trees while their backs were turned. I’ve only seen this Oriental Tigerlily at this garden and one other – both having been planted by Master Gardeners. I didn’t have the heart to dig any of them up. I had to lay on my back to shoot this as the blooms point downward.
I think they look like little microphones…........LOL “For a Quick Look click / Gorgeous Gods & Goddesses, / Flowers, / Beautiful Places and Things, / Weddings / Pregnancy and Babies

Something besides portraiture for a change! This piece won the College Foundation Purchase Award in the student art show I entered last April. It was my first ever entry into an art show, and I was shocked and elated that I actually won something. Needless to say, I am very proud of this image. © Cadence Gamache This piece was nominated into the Pay It Forward group by the wonderful Melanie Dooley. This is what she had to say about it: When I first joined RB I saw this image and bought a canvas of it – it hangs on my dining room wall. / I was very inspired by the colours, composition and textures. I know the artist is proud of this image – as she should be. It embodies everything I aspire to as a beginner/hobby digital artist. You are way too kind, Melanie… Thank you.

Vincent’s Cat Recently I’ve been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. I love his irises and wanted to paint some myself. Their complicated forms and brilliant deep blues captivated me. As some of you may know I have a fondness for cats. During my life I have had two exceptional ginger cats ‘Victor’ and ‘Mittens’ who were very dear to me; this is dedicated to their memory. Acrylic on canvas / Size: 30cm x 30cm Original SOLD
Photomanipulation of a red rose, inspired by Happy Roses from Holland. Those are dyed in different colors. The color shemes I have used for this you can see here: The Colors Of The Rainbow Original source: Perfection by Lilyas
This picture took a long time to create. The flowers (Chamaescilla corymbosa) are very common in the bush near my home, but they are also very tiny, so it is difficult to create a frame free of “clutter”. I wanted the orange flower to be an out-of-focus background contrast to the main blooms, while having all the stamens sharp. Lots of time lying down with the tripod in amongst the jackjumpers! Velvia scan. “Dance with me!” was featured in the group A Beautiful Blur.
/ / Little Lilly is another of my elephants – she likes hibiscus – can you tell…? / every day she picks a new colour and goes in search of a brand new hibiscus to wear behind her ear…..aw sweet Lilly ;) Lilly was painted with pastels (mainly chalk pastels) on black pastel paper.
