  • The press loved the Mini on it’s launch in 1959, but sales were unimpressive, but when well known celebrities such as Paul McCartney and Twiggy became owners that the sales went through the roof. I’m pretty sure the Italian Job also had plenty to do with sales post 1969. The scene where the robbers’ Minis are chased through a sewer tunnel were filmed in the Sowe Valley Sewer Duplication system in the English city of Coventry.

  • / Sailor Girl is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper, I used ink, pastel, and some acrylic…..inks are mainly black, acrylics are mainly white, you can see the canvas texture showing through the pastel, which gives it a nice textured appeal I am really into sailing boats, hope you like this one :D Here’s another one available in a print at last!

  • God Bless America Flag & Fireworks / Remember – Pearl Harbor Day Dec. 7, 1941 / Below is a photo of the Arizona Memorial compliments of Aleilani /

  • Another in the Masters series. / This is the centre part of a long panoramic watercolour. By Thomas Bush Hardy, 1895. I’ve moved some of the boats to be closer together, as my version is a small painting, 10×7 inches, on rough Bockingford tinted cream paper, 140lb. I will be painting the full length seascape in the future.

  • I happened upon this lovely bench painted as the American flag while on Coronado Island near City Hall. The sun was setting. No one was around. Isabella’s voice giggling in the distance for me to hurry and catch up. It made me stop. And stand directly in front of it. Almost demanding respect. My heart beat faster. My throat lumped full. I felt sad and proud all at once. Instinct almost forced my hand to my heart. Instead it was my camera to my eye. Published in File Magazine’s Lensbaby Gallery This photo is untouched. / Canon 40D / Lensbaby Composer – 4.0 / ISO 1600

  • My version of a Thomas Bush Hardy (1842-97). From an 1895 watercolour of Ramsgate Harbour. A panoramic shaped painting, 23” x 10”. / Hand-made, 140lb rough paper. Over 20 hours work. Multiple layers of semi-transparent and opaque watercolour, and white zinc gouache for highlights. Viewing in larger size is necessary.

  • A palette knife and sepia version of my Newcastle watercolour painting. Taxi’s (horse carriages) waiting for fares. The castle (1080) and Black Gate tower (1247), in Newcastle upon Tyne. St Nicholas Street. Looking south, to the mouth of the High Level bridge. Painted from a photo, taken in 1901. HB pencil and Watercolour, on 10” x7” Bockingford, tinted eggshell, 140lb.

  • With the global economy caught in the gravity of the financial crisis, it’s sad that programs like the Constellation Project will have a long wait before anything truly gets off the ground. / / NASA’s Constellation Project is set up to finish the International Space Station, retire the Shuttle Fleet and build a whole new fleet of space vehicles which will take us back to the Moon, then Mars and then the places beyond. / / But with Congressional limitations and funding cutbacks due to the financial crisis, as well as being stuck with a complicated and restrictive “go as you pay” finance structure it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing any groundbreaking manned space flights in the naughties. / / This image represents a fleeting memory of a childhood dream to see man explore our planets and then the stars beyond and it’s one of the few things as a child I looked up to America for. / / The universe is a big place and we’re yet to make it out of our solar system but without programs like the Constellation Project, man may never ever get to make another giant leap. / / DETAIL / / / /

  • Put this together today for a meeting tomorrow to remember our military and the sacrifice they made so we could live in a free country.

  • This is a puppy called Uno. He is an “American” Pit Bull Terrier. I was splitting a litter with a girl who got his Mom from me in 2008. Tragically he was the only puppy of 11 who survived. He is now in a wonderful home with a Mom and Dad and 3 kids who just adore him. His breed is truly American, and little Uno was Made In America! :)) / FEATURED IN CATS AND DOGS / FEATURED IN COUNTRY BUMPKIN / FEATURED IN THE APBT LOVERS GROUP / FEATURED IN OUR K9 FRIEND / FEATURED IN THE SCAVENGER HUNT PLACED IN THE TOP 10 IN THE PATRIOTIC PET CHALLENGE – PETS ARE US CHALLENGE WINNER – OUR 4TH OF JULY PETS – IN PAWS N CLAWS / / Also available in a T-Shirt HERE

  • Acrylic on stretched canvas 10 inch x 10 inch Original SOLD I was painting this yesterday when there was snow falling outside. Guess I wanted to think about summer and warmth. This has a very British seaside feel to it. I remember trips to the seaside when I was a child. Metal painted buckets with jolly seaside scenes on them, metal spades with wooden dowel handles…packets of paper flags to pop into those sandcastles. Why did the egg sandwiches always get sand in them? / Anyway this lady here seems to have quite a bit of her own buoyancy.

  • Refraction of American flag in water.

  • A mystical and magical creature said to build its nest in the mountains and line it with gold and attributed as an attribute of understanding the relationship between psychic energy and cosmic force, as well as being the guardian to the pathway to spiritual enlightenment. This solar hybrid creature, combines the head, claws and wings of an eagle with the body of a lion, symbolizing rulership of air and land and together making a double emblem of the Sun’s power and usually shown next to a ‘tree of life’ or similar symbol as the guardian of the sun and seasons. / The Griffin has been a forceful motif since the second millineum BCE in western Asia, later in the Middle East, Greece and eventually Europe. It was a Hebrew symbol of Persia, had demonic significance in Assyria, but seems in Crete to have played a protective role in palace decoration. In Greece, where the griffin was sacred to Apollo, to Athene as wisdom and to Nemesis as retribution, legend said they guarded the gold of India and of the Scythians. In early Christianity iconography the griffin was used to symbolize the forces of persecution, vengeance or hindrance. But from the 14th century it emerges as an emblem of the dual nature of Christ – human and divine – and of courageous vigilance, which was its usual meaning in heraldry.
