I found this little guy in a garden in Bangkok. He popped up on queue and made the shot very easy. I think he was hungry.

This is my favorite fish in the tank. This one acts like a typical cichlid, always hiding. I have tried for many days to get a shot of it, this was the best I could get.

Another shot of the male Parachromis Managuense (Jaguar Cichlid) with fry. The parents will watch over their brood for several weeks before attempting to spawn yet again. Successive spawns will be preyed upon by the older fry…eventually the strongest will survive. The sheer number of fry in every spawn for a fish that is often at the top of the line predator in the water shed, speaks volumes to mother natures grand scheme. The mortality rate of the fry in the wild is massive. In an aquarium, 90% of the fish will be removed and passed along to other cichlid enthusiasts. This photo was taken with a 105mm Nikkor lens and a Nikon D300. Two Nikon SB-800 flack units were used as well as a small reflector.

My son took this picture at The Rainforest Cafe in San Antonio, TX. They had a huge aquarium that we sat by and he took shot after sot of these beautiful fish. I am not sure what kind of fish these are but it looks like one fish with a tail fin at each end. If you look closely you can see the eye and mouth of the one fish! Such a wonderful capture!
