This was taken near Clare, two hours north of Adelaide, South Australia, on New Year’s Eve. The colours depicted a hot summer and a perfect end to that year. The power lines drew my eye to the distance and in a sense to the future, and all that it held. This was taken using a Canon DSLR EOS 350D.

This was an interpretation of the lyrics to the 1920’s Louis Armstrong song, Black and Blue. Essentially it is about racism and division. The little girl is looking at what she will probably never obtain. / It is a mixture of watercolour, ink, pen and collage.

I took this picture a couple of years ago at the beach of Marina di Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. / This is a fine example I think of how a fisheye lens can completely change the feeling of an ordinary scene. The subject is simply some surf on the seashore, captured from a distance of not more than a foot. / The original picture is a Fuji Velvia 50 Iso medium format slide. Maunaleo ~ Journey With Spirit This is one of my signature pieces, a composite of seven of my images blended into one using photographs I have taken on the lava seacliffs of Wa’ianapanapa Maui Hawai’i blended with Alaska skies and an enormous full moon. Maunaleo ~ Journey With Spirit is dedicated with deepest respect and appreciation for Keali’i Reichel. This beautiful mele is one of my favourites and I love the gentle power of his angelic voice!! Bluegirl; she started a revival in my work. I am proud of her. It had been a while (years) since I’d produced anything, anything I was proud of. Working on her was akin to coaxing a fossil from the ground. Where an archaeologist might use a soft brush, my conté smoothed the paper away from her. Revealing her curve – her shape – her mood. Working as I do, on a flat table, walking circles around the work, conversing with it, singing to it (she likes Led Zeppelin); often with my face millimetres from the page, I can say I know her well. Very well. I hope you enjoy her company also.

This door detail was photographed in Avanos, a small town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. The bright colors and old wood of houses and doors in these small towns are often beautiful and always intriguing. The splintered wood, tooled brass lock and handle, and encroaching shadow give this piece a sense of mystery for me.

Pen and ink drawing of a guy I knew once he was the most fasionable transient I ever knew. So the guy he was homeless right and he layered his suit pants and his suit shirts and all he needed was some shoes and a coat. So I bought him a suit jacket and shoes and he got a job. In Missoula Montana there are a lot of homeless people. I have been fortunate enough to make friends with many. I try to do what I can for people!
