Red Bubble’s First Book /// In the Moment /// Overall Winner / I found myself in Geneva for a week for work last year. The only other time I had been to Switzerland was Zurich for 2 nights in the middle of winter, so I was kind of surprised by the beautiful (and hot!) summer weather I experienced on this visit. / The Lake at Geneva is where everyone goes to cool off and I was mesmerised watching all these crazy dudes doing amazing things off a high-dive on the edge of the lake. I took a few shots and managed to capture this moment among them. / I entered this work into the 2007 Linden Gallery Post Card Show in St.Kilda, and was absolutely stoked to have been awarded one of the six entries to be reproduced as postcards and sold through the gallery.

Tiny dandelion seeds against a colorful paper… Enjoy!
Finally I got out amongst the autumn trees today with two of my photography students. Plus I had a little time myself to shoot some of the trees in Yoyogi Park on what was a beautiful day with gorgeous light. This pic is currently in the ‘Zen’ competition at JPEG magazine. Photo Manipulation Musical inspiration: Akira Yamaoka. There are no lyrics, only music. I find his music haunting and it sets a rather melancholy mood, both beautiful and sad. / I listen almost exclusively to Yamaoka songs (mostly the soundtracks from the Silent Hill games/movie – my absolute faves) when I am creating. They inspire me like nothing else can. Here are Dance with Night Wind and Tears of… which inspired the mood for this pieces. . / Credits Model stock / Sky / Ocean, Rocks / Water Fall / Brushes / Everything else hand painted. Magnolia falls like butterflies from the sky… From my TtV (Through the Viewfinder) series. The dust, scratches and blur from the vintage camera give a lovely old effect. Camera: Kodak Duaflex
Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada This was one my very first photo’s I took. There were many things I had not yet picked up. I had the iso on auto, which I think for this photo was about 400 – 800. This led to much of the noise in the sky. I had the aperture set at f22, which at the time I thought was best to bring more of the photo in focus but I later found it can soften the overall image. I also did not own a tripod so I had to balance the camera on some rocks which made composing the scene much harder then normal and led to a small amount of camera shake. In the end though this became the first photo I had taken that I was truly proud of and solidified my passion for photography.
