Sorry to all those who don’t like “pets and babies” photos… ;) This is my kitty trying to catch a fly on the window last night… The sun was coming down into our living room which gave that nice glow on one side of his face. I was originally going to make it all black & white but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave his gorgeous blue eye out! Update 22/03/2009: / Thanks to all your comments this photo is now on page #1 of the “most popular pictures of all times”! Please leave a comment and/or favourite it to help me keep it up there !! / Thank you all again for your support! :))

In my most recent series: ‘Face Navigation’ , I have used the fluidity of watercolour painting to express a personal perception of self and others. There is an awareness of the universal human condition through facial expression, and in some cases I create a progression of images, exploring the changing perception of a person by deconstructing facial recognition. As there is a shift over time in attitude or mood, there is a corresponding shift in visual interpretation. Sizes variable, average sizes 250×102 mm. I was watching a particularly grotesque horror film last night, called ‘Inside’ and the main character was such a frowny face even before she was being attacked by some crazy woman that wanted her unborn child. So I started doodling while I watched it. This is the result. It’s not a direct likeness of the girl, but it’s similar. In case you can’t tell, I love fringes.
