This shot was taken at Newport Wharf which is located on the shores of Pittwater north of Sydney. Easily accessable by car or public transport. Its the kind of place where you can wind down at the end of the day with a cold beer or a glass of Australian Chardonnay and watch the sun set in the west.. This is my neighbourhood about 5 minutes from my home, “Just a Little Touch of Paradise.” we get some great sunsets ! / So if youre visiting Sydney areas like this are within 40 klms of the city Nikon D300, 5 bracketted images , hand held, NO FILTERS NO COLOUR MANIPULATION just pure HDR. Late afternoon at Port Willunga South Australia. Looking out towards the setting sun through the remains of the Old Jetty structure. Not overly sure about the colours here, strange evening with orange red clouds and just dark enough to get a slight amount of motion in the foreground. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter coupled with an ND4. Wet legs and a wet tripod, standing out in the water trying to avoid waves!!!!!!

THIS IS A BIG IMAGE VIEW LARGER FOR BEST RESULTS This shot was taken from Echo Point in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area at sunset, it was created from 5 bracketed images using a Nikon D300 fitted with a Nikon 18-200mm. No filters were used. The rock formations to the left are known as “The Three Sisters” the image was taken at sunrise looking past the Sisters certainly have a great view. The Blue Mountains are located 2 hours west of Sydney by road, also by train for visitors to Sydney, there are also organised day trips via motor coach that will take you to the area for the day…. though if you have the time spend a few days in the area. You can see all the attractions, have a devonshire tea in one of the many teahouses, or sit on the edge of the valley that seems to go on forever, and listen to the birdlife. Bushwalking is a must !

Shot at Makara Beach, west coast of lower North Island, New Zealand, I’d given up on this location and was walking back to the car, I’d been shooting past the point towards sunset, light conditions were harsh, not much water movement and no clouds, not my cup of tea at all. Looking back towards the point I noticed a series of stones that led towards the point, this was too good to be true, so here it is, made the journey worth while. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm lens, with Cokin ND8 grad filter. / Jelly Bean Rumble at Dusk / Got da Makara Blues

Young Draven (8) was patiently posing for me on this long exposure (4 seconds). This young kid has already a fantastic eye for composition. Numerous times he has seen something from his perspective and with his imagination that it is only a matter of time he will come up with his own vision and surprise us all. Meanwhile he is happy to carry my tripod and press the button on my cable release. / Any sponsors out there? I love the shape of these mangrove trees…in fact I am a devoted tree photographer just in case you haven’t noticed

Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada This was one my very first photo’s I took. There were many things I had not yet picked up. I had the iso on auto, which I think for this photo was about 400 – 800. This led to much of the noise in the sky. I had the aperture set at f22, which at the time I thought was best to bring more of the photo in focus but I later found it can soften the overall image. I also did not own a tripod so I had to balance the camera on some rocks which made composing the scene much harder then normal and led to a small amount of camera shake. In the end though this became the first photo I had taken that I was truly proud of and solidified my passion for photography.

This tree has a bit of a story I suppose. Those living in the Brisbane area know it as “Garry’s” tree….just kidding. It is a fantastic subject both for Sunrises and Sunsets and even night shots. Go and get it…hehe
