While the scientists were discussing further modifications, TeddyDawg made good his escape. One of the Scientists had carelessly left his Hoverhopper unguarded, and armed now with higher canine mind, Ted wasted no time. He vaulted the low rail and was into the seat in a flash. Although he was dog-tired from the last operation, his combo brain was serving him well and he was soon flying over the icy, oily, factory floor, before anyone could move. He would show them just what a stuffed toy could really do. He smiled as he increased power. …“Now, where is that cat?”

Like my kitten image I wanted to paint this little dog with some fantasy flair. This dog is basically my creation I don’t know if there are any dogs that look exactly like this in the world, I’m sure definitely not this colorful. I looked at a few photos of puppies and dogs to get ideas of what type of dog I wanted to create and paint. I played with different colors until I got a result that I liked. I wanted this dog to look very cute and mysterious much like my kitten image.

Taranaq, granddaughter of the Tundra and her faithful companion Nanuk, the guardian spirits of winter. I went to bed…. couldn’t sleep…. so got up and created this. It turned out to be kind of peaceful, and comforting. Perhaps now I can close my tired eyes and dream sweet dreams until the morning comes – all too soon. Self portrait and stock images from sxc.hu

My coworker’s young Australian Shepard taken on 12/19/06. Her father is also a “blue Merle” and her mother is a Black Tri, the perfect makings for excellent stock. We call her Punz for short; she will be ready to breed in the Spring of 2008; I can only imagine how gorgeous her pups will be. I don’t take many pet photographs but, on seeing the outcome of this shot, that may change.

I received a wonderful email this morining containing this letter. This letter inspired this work of art titled “Safely in Heaven”: THIS IS THE EMAIL I RECEIVED: i DO NOT KNOW MEREDITH OR ABBEY, BUT THIS STORY IS BEAUTIFUL This is one of the kindest things I’ve ever experienced. I have no way of knowing who sent it, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office at the Post Office. Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words: Dear God, Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her. Love, Meredith. We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, ‘To Meredith,’ in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, ‘When a Pet Dies.’ Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note: Dear Meredith, Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn’t sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don’t need our bodies in heaven, I don’t have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by. Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I’m easy to find, I am wherever there is love. Love, / God / ___ I personally believe all animals go to Heaven…. Re 5:9: And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Re 5:12: Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Re 5:13: And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. / ____ I created this work using a photo I had taken of my sister-in-law’s pet rottweiler named Lady. I used Photoshop CS3 to merge the images with an image a statue of Jesus from the Huntington Library and a picture of clouds from Arizona. Finally, I edited the image with Micrografx and finished the work. Digitally enhanced. Lady was such a gentle sweetheart. She became ill from lukemia and eventully succombed to her illness. The beautiful thing is that my nieces had already come to the Lord berore this. This incident brought us all closer when we were able to show our family scripture to support our belief’s about animals being created to live forever. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain.
