  • The varying layers of cloud created wonderful variations in colour in this sunset. I was lucky enough to spot a dead tree on a nearby hill to create a great silhouette. Taken on Victorian side of Hume Weir out past Bellbridge.

  • 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of this item, will be donated to Bush Heritage Australia This photo was taken in the late afternoon. Dead Horse Springs is near Lake Argyle, Kimberley region, Western Australia.

  • The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. • A morbid history of St. John’s… the hill in the background is known as Gibbets Hil, it is where all the criminals were hung in public executions. The body of water at the base of the hill is where the executioner would throw the bodies when they were dead. The pond is known as “Dead Man’s Pond”. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

  • Took it today as a huge storm was rolling in. It’s still IR. / / / / / / /

  • A different take on the tree of dreams Subservient inspired THIS wonderful piece of writing from a very talented RB Writer – adgray – go spend a little time with her to read and dream! “I kowtow to your greatness the blue that is impossibly you / I have no colour to contend with the iridescence of you / I cannot reach as high as you / I cannot be as wide as you / But please don’t forget will you / That without me and my kind … / .... there is no impossibly iridescent great blue you!” Said the thirsty tree to the glorious cloudless sky of blue! adgray

  • Back to the infrared… =-) Title inspired by “The Flaming Lips”

  • This is the blue version of Into The Next Sun I wasn’t sure if I should put up both, but since people have different ‘favourite’ colours, I thought a few of you might like this one better…I think I do!

  • Backwaters of the River Murray at Lyrup near sunset, late afternoon. Majestic old dead gums still standing out against the skyline. These flats are situated near Lyrup in the Riverland area of South Australia between Berri and Renmark. A great place for sunrise or sunset. Three shot stitch in Photoshop CS3. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with Polarising filter.

  • Lyrup Flats – Backwater area of the mighty River Murray between Berri and Renmark in the Riverland of South Australia. A log jam divides water laying in small pools in amongst dead river redgum trees. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with CIR Polarising filter. Two shot pano stitch in Photoshop CS3.

  • The sad part of my recent visit to the Riverland of South Australia. A backwater area, normally with substantial water, slowly drying out in the drought with salt and acidification of the soil. The drought and inaction on the river levels is certainly causing irreversible damage. However it needs to be said that there is still plenty of water in the River Murray itself for activities and visits. We need to continue to support the tourism and other businesses along the river as they battle through hard times. So that said, go visit the river and its people and maybe drop back away from the river itself and see what is slowly happening to the backwaters. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with CIR Polarising filter. (Dirty boots and clothes from standing in the mud!!!!!) Thanks to Emjay01 for visiting with me, go and have a look at his site for images of the River in its beauty. seehere

  • Come as you are, as you were, as I want you to be. / As a friend, as a friend, as an old Enemy. / Take your time, hurry up, choice is yours, don’t be late. / Take a rest, as a friend, as an old Memoria. / Memoria, Memoria, Memoria. / Come doused in Mud, soaked in Bleach, as I want you to be. / As a trend, as a friend, as an old Memoria. / Memoria, Memoria, Memoria. / And I swear that I don’t have a gun / No, I don’t have a gun / No, I don’t have a gun -Nirvana’s “Come as you are” Self Portrait / © Jessica Walker 2009

  • I also took this… Location – a muddy path somewhere on Kooragang Island.

  • Before the dawn, Noora Evaporation basin near Renmark South Australia. Just before the sun with a brooding blue stormy cloud line silhouetting the majestic old dead river redgum trees that line the basin. As most of you know this is one of my favorite spots to sit and watch the sun come up! Canon 400D – 18-55 lens with CIR Polariser topped with ND4.

  • William, the Victorian ghost boy. The Hammo

  • Early morning just as the sun starts to rise – Lyrup backwaters near the Noora evaporation basin in the Riverland of South Australia. This is a backwater lined with majestic old river red gums but is not indicative of the main river. Still plenty to do and see on the river itself and well worth a trip. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with Polarising filter. Three shot panoramic stitched in Photoshop CS3.

  • Many thanks for viewing.

  • Death is the house of emerging life.

  • Another week in the Riverland and visited the Noora Salt Interception basin three mornings in a row. Joined by Smarti77 and Dave Hartley and it was only on the last morning that the clouds and rising sun created the beautiful soft colours and shapes in this shot. Noora is a back water off the River Murray main where the water is heavily salty and dead gum trees from a distant past stand in silent vigil. This area is located between Berri and Renmark in the Riverland of South Australia. Canon 400D 17-85 lens with Pro Polarising filter. My apologies to those of you who I have not been able to visit lately, time now back home will see me catch up I hope!

  • I thought I would play around with this one a bit more ( I have it uploaded on here in b/w..Dead End) I decided to upload the color version and crop it a bit. / This was taken in Pigeon Michigan. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens

  • The iconic Liathach rises above Loch Clair, on a beautiful Winter’s day. / Not a perfect reflection, but still a wonderful scene. The dead tree has stood there for as long as I remember, in just the right place for a great composition. / Liathach is one of the Torridon Hills, in the North West of Scotland. Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, tripod, polariser, f19, 1/20sec, iso 100, auto wb, single RAW file pseudo HDR in Photomatix, finished in PS CS3. MORE OF MY WORK HERE /
