On a frosty june morning I found myself to the top of a local range near Geranium in the Souther Mallee looking at one of the most brilliant sunrise’s I have ever seen. The warm glow of the sun across the clouds and the shifting light made me forget about the the freezing temperatures I was working in.
I don’t usually do IR shots with people or animals, but this horse was kind enough to stay still for me for 2 seconds. ......................................................................................................... Bored in a stable with nothing to do. / We make a game of throwing our shoes. / Lead me to water, but not to the track. / Show me a saddle and I’ll say, “Hey get off my back.” / All in favor (all in favor) say “Nay!” / We like the flavor of (we like the flavor of) hay. / We’re gonna graze all of our days. / Until they take us away and turn us into glue. / Like Mr. Ed always said… May the horse be with you. May the horse be with you. / May the Horse be with you everyday. / I trot by the fillies (they like me of course). / They all dig my band (yea I’m a rocking horse). / You gotta take off your spurs to ride me you know. / If you want me to stop then yell out “Whoa”. / All in favor (all in favor) say “Nay!” / We like the flavor of (we like the flavor of) ha / .............................. Lone figure walking into the shadows…...
This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Taken last week, standing in the basement looking up at the back door. More from the abandoned farmhouse series soon. :) And Happy New Year everyone!! / It’s 8:37 p.m. here. I get the feeling I’m the last sober one around here.(not for long…ha.) / / >featured< / sold: 2 mounted prints (RB artists) / / More from this series: / / Welcome Home / Tattered And Torn / Wild Horses / Watch Your Step / I Remember You / / /
I was coming home yesterday from an appointment downtown, / and happened to look over and see this place. It was completely / abandoned, along with garages, a barn and cars. Didn’t go in, (yet..heh) but I got a few good shots from the front. I added the flood..(to go with the title.) / / CS3/Corel/handheld/Samsung/HDR / I can’t even begin to list all of the things I did to this. / One filter conversion to the next applying and painting certain areas with the saturation brush, then repeating the process + / overlays & more fine tuning! Thanks for checking it out. :) / / / Special thanks to Kevin Kroeker for being a major inspiration with HDR. You can check out some of his truly amazing HDR work here: click me!
After I ran this through processing, it reminded me of something out of the Old West. Special thanks to the very talented Leah Highland for sharing your texture info! You’re awesome. :) / / / Douzy, at your request here is that info. :) / It’s the largest online collection of FREE (free!!!) textures / in the world. You can download up to 15 megs per day, so I’d / recommend saving the smaller versions, and then resizing them later. ;) TEXTURES Once again, thanks Leah!

Fortunately there was a bus stop in the layby (see map above) that I could pull in to and stood up on the door frame of the car to see over the fence. Fortunately the clouds were just right as I was driving past.
I generally am not a horse fan. Or a country girl. (Even though / I come from a long line of knife wielding half crazed Texas / Indians..) But I couldn’t help myself when I saw these two today. The kitty put its nose right up to the horse’s..I couldn’t believe it..
This farmer just kept on going dispite the beautiful sky behind him. Nikon D80 / 18-55mm lense 35mm length / f/11 ISO100 1/125 Winner of Country Bumpkin’s “You think my tractor’s sexy” contest! A Welsh Heritage site Carew is one of the few castles to display the development from Norman fortification to Elizabethan country house. There is evidence of a much earlier settlement, dating back perhaps some 2,000 years. The Castle is in a delightful country setting, overlooking the 23 acre Mill Pond. Over the centuries, remarkable individuals, some with close royal connections, have made their mark on the castle. The beautiful Princess Nest, the powerful Sir Rhys ap Thomas and the ambitious Sir John Perrot are all part of the Carew story. The Great Tournament of 1507, attended by 600 nobles, was one of the last of its kind in Britian.

3200 ISO is a brave new world for me. As a self confessed low ISO junkie, one who used Ektar 25 film whenever and wherever he could for many years because I wanted tight grain, the tighter the better, I would pull out all the stops I could to use that amazing ISO 25 film! For sure I’d never gone above ISO 1000 and then only to shoot indoor sporting events. Low ISO was(?) a hang-up for me! But I wanted to try astral photography and high ISO can get you there! However as we all know high ISO leads to increased noise which is something fairly new to me. You can use software and Photoshop plugins but I’ve been considering, one way to control noise would be to minimize or eliminate it by keeping the ISO as low as possible and that’s one way I‘m leaning. So in that regard it looks like a fast 50 prime is in order! It’s fun to be experimenting and learning, eh! Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 30 / Av( Aperture Value ) 3.5 / ISO Speed 3200 / Focal Length 18.0mm / Flash at 1/16 power and about 12 or 13 paper towels for diffusion. “One Night Under the Milky Way” was shot at Flamber Head on Newfoundland’s East Coast Trail For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr

The house sits like her heart… Empty, once full of love and life, now the halls echo with the laughter..the joy of their love, Memories of happiness are all she has. He left for work that day with a kiss to her lips, a “I love you” on his way out the door, she waved to him out the window and blew him a kiss..if she only knew that would be the last time she tasted his kiss, felt his touch, she would never have let him go..The only relief out of all this pain and heartache is he didn’t suffer, when the truck hit his car head on, he died instantly. Now she waits, unable to leave their home, not wanting to go on, knowing that he waits for her..she prays for “HER” life after death, to be in his arms again, to feel his kiss, his touch, to make this house their home for eternity, the way it should have been..but again she wakes to the emptiness of the halls, the emptiness of their bed and of her heart..she goes to the window and like a movie played over and over agiain she sees him getting into his car..she pounds on the window..yells for him to STOP!!!..to COME BACK!!!...and like every day he pulls away and disappears into thin air…leaving her again.to her pain, and their empty house. Another abandoned house, Loved the blue color of this place. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR lens
