At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. Minolta 5D / Minolta 50mm f1.7 Lens / Singh-Ray CPL / Dynatran 858 Tripod / HDR through Photomatix, final output through Photoshop

I was in Snow Mass near Aspen, Colorado, for Balloon Glow. At dusk the balloons were inflated. The crowd counted down and all the balloons were lit up at the same time. It was a spectacular scene with the storm clouds moving in. The clouds lit up with the glow. This was the culmination of a wonderful evening which included some of the best barbeque I’ve ever had.

This is from a trip we took to see my sister .. we were on the road and this called to us ..it had a very fast river coming out of it which crashed downstream for miles. The light was hitting the side of the mountains in spots. Its been a long time ago but the views in this state are amazing. Scanned from 35mm Slide. A Nice Place For The Wall

Colorado is certainly known for it’s parks, and this one I happened upon out of the blue one day….it really is a majestic site, with these odd rock formations just jetting straight up from the earth, as if reaching for the sky. I was also lucky enough to capture the distant clouds as they were building for afternoon thunderstorms, later that day….spose you can say I like the sense of drama that they add to the image overall. / HDR processed, thoughts most welcomed! —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. I love elements of American typography. It’s like it’s caught in a time warp. Especially out here in the wild west.
