On the beach at sunrise on West Island, over looking Pulu Maria, Cocos Islands. / Arriving at the beach with the promise of another stunning day, my husband turned off the car key, reclined the seat and went back to sleep!

This yellow dory was tied to the wharf for the winter. The boat launch had quite a steep angle to it… you can see the ocean far below, so the dory was secured with these blue ropes.I loved the contrast between the yellow boat and the blue ropes holding it securely. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / laminated print / /

Pearse’s Beach, is on the ocean side of the popular Mornington Peninsula,along the. Bass Strait coastline Blairgowrie-Bridgewater Walk (2 km return), which starts from the St John’s Wood Rd car park. It overlooks a rugged bay and returns via a coastal track. The Blairgowrie-Rye Recreational Track is well-made and well-maintained. sold 2 framed prints

Motivated by fellow RedBubblers I headed down south for some South Australian sunset shots. Found a perfect spot along Aldinga Beach and snapped away. This was the last one for the night and talk about “save the best for last”.

At the northernmost corner of the Polynesian triangle, the Hawaiian Islands stand as a sentry for a collection of atolls, volcanic remnants, coral blocks and large islands that punctuate the region stretching to Aotearoa (New Zealand) in the south and Rapa Nui (Easter Island) in the east. Hawai’i is the newest landmass in Polynesia and the most isolated settled area on the globe, rife with unique ecosystems. Maui, sitting in the middle of the main Hawaiian island chain, is young geologically. Haleakala, still volcanically active in the 18th century and now considered dormant, rises 10,023 feet. The older and more eroded West Maui Mountains are 1.3 million years old. The tallest point at Pu’u Kukui – 5,788 feet – is one of the rainiest spots on earth. Ka’anapali is on the leeward side of these mountains of West Maui on the slopes facing the islands of Lana’i, visible on the horizon in this image and the beautiful island of Moloka’i. Fort Bragg, Ca… Sometimes, waiting for that “perfect wave” can be a long wait. Fortunately, I have a tripod, and a remote for my Nikon D80 so I can wander a bit while still running a series of shots and hoping for one that captures what my eyes see. This shot is unenhanced so the colours you see here are exactly as they were in my reference shots, or exactly beautiful.
