Well, I’m back from the farm….almost froze it was so bloody cold (OK, not as cold as in some parts of the world, Simon, but I was bloody cold!! lol) Of course the first image I post has to be IR, so here it is. Filter almost froze to the lens, but I had to get this in infrared. Camera: Canon EOS 450D / Filter: R72 / ISO 400 / f/4.5 / Focal Length: 18mm / Exposure: 25sec / Tripod and frozen fingers and toes. And no, it wasn’t snowing, the grass was green, it just goes white with the ir filter.

A close up portrait of a robber crab….....also known as a coconut crab as they crack and eat coconuts! These are my favourite creatures on the planet! I’m fascinated by all the separate plates which join together to make up a whole crab! They are basically evolved hermit crabs in that they do not carry shells to protect their abdomen. They are very imposing, massive creatures with a scientific name of Birgus Latro and they can be blue or red in colour! Their leg span can reach around 70cm! The biggest i’ve seen had a body size 1 foot square and i was even lucky enough to see 20 in one small area feasting on a fallen coconut tree! Despite their size and somewhat menacing appearance, they are gentle and placid creatures who back away when threatened. Found on Christmas Island, Indian Ocean Territories, Australia. Taken on Canon 5D at f5.6, 1/40th sec, ISO 800, 400mm of 100-400mm lens. As is.
I Love Her Eyes So Much. I find that a majority of my friends have like, the prettiest eyes i’ve ever seen.. This was for her pregnancy photos. We did headshots too [i couldn’t resist.. had to get those eyes up close!] Pretty Momma!!!

Abstract Macro Photography – Landscapes I got really exited when i seen this mini landscape today. / It is a large stone, part of a very large, old stone wall bearing the weight of railway tracks. / The bridge is actually got a name, which suprised me, as railway bridges dont usually get named. / The bridge is called ‘Woodhouse bridge’, and it is in Calverley, Leeds, and it runs across the ‘River Aire’ (but it does not go over the Leeds to Liverpool canal which runs parallel to the River Aire) This large stone, part of the bridge really stood out from the rest because it was blue and orange with moss growing up it, making it look very much like a clear sunny day with a bright blue sky and a forest of pine trees.

Abstract Macro Photography – Seascape I have been watching this small piece of timber, laying by the road side for a good two weeks. / It has had to put up with the harsh conditions of the British weather. / Heavy rain, constant change of temperature, stiff winds. Folk kicking it out of their way as they walk by, kids jumping on it and throwing it. / It just lays there, collecting grime from the passing traffic, slowly decaying… / I collected it on friday 27.11.09. took it from where it lay, 20 feet into my home, where i let it dry for 24 hours or so. / This morning i took the sleeve of my hooded top and very gently just dusted over the fragile surface and began to photograph it. to me it looks like a seascape, looking back onto the land with a bright blue sky

Thnetopsychism (from Greek thnetos (mortal) + psyche (soul, mind)), the view that the soul dies with the body to be recalled to life at the resurrection of the dead, or that the soul is not separate from the body and so there is no “spiritual” self to survive bodily death. / Abstract Macro / Burnt Metal
