A shot of some flower stems and buds that reminded me of space and the cosmos. And then of CS Lewis and his Space Trilogy, for some reason. I have yet to read it. But I love the name of that book. Please see my Etsy listing for this image – and purchase a pearlescent metallic print of this mysterious image. This photo is seen in two of my calendars – please take a look at them! / Everyday Mysteries A Bouquet
I love the different textures and colors this little bud had… it has the same colors as a peacock feather! This was taken with a sigma 105mm macro lens, the bud was tiny about the size of my pinky nail.

This flower’s Latin name is Echinpos ritro Veitch’s Blue, it’s about 1 inch across. I’m very interested in the Veitch family. They were a family of 5 generations of horticulturists and were the first nursery to send out their own plant hunters in the 1840s. Many new plants were introduced to science but also to ordinary gardeners. / They had a large nursery in Exeter UK and my home is built in the grounds. There was also a large and grand nursery in Chelsea, London and from here Sir Harry Veitch helped set up the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show. 15.08.09 Featured in Rxtreme Close ups group / Thank you so much! 24.11.2009 986 views 24.11.2009 Featured in 1:1 Macro Photography group / Thank you!
