I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?

Saltspring Island, just off Vancouver Island, is a peaceful spot to go to simply enjoy the beauty of the water, the sea birds, and the fir trees. And the Northwest’s plants are in their glory there! This watercolor painting is of one of the very colorful rhododendrons we found there one spring. “Autumn Gold” is its actual name. This image is available for purchase as a print and can be obtained by contacting me through Bmail. Painted on Arches 140 lb. cold press paper, using primarily Daniel Smith watercolor paints, along with a few from Winsor & Newton. When I see cherry blossoms or (in this case) Japanese cherryblossoms, I always think of my childhood and youth.
