Another experiment with metallic blue paper as a background and the flash on my camera… haha, I guess it worked well. I never use my flash, so that’s why this is so experimental, hehe. It’s also the stamen of a hibiscus.

Mixed media work. I composed the background with a fractal design and photoshop elements. Ted took the photograph of this rose and made a perfect cut out. After blending the two and playing with filters I got this endresult.

Ok.. I had a beautiful Lily but the water was nasty.. I tried to fix that.. Not really good at changing things.. But I shall make time soon to read about it. This is the flower and I tried to get rid of the nasty water.. Its still pretty.. Something Pretty For The Wall Or Desk

Not far away a wonderful passionflower vine tumbles over a wall, loaded with flowers, so I picked a few to add to the waterdrop series. /

Bewitched She picks boughs of magnolia from the tree in her garden and brings them to me in her fist as though she’s bringing me blooms of her heart to plant as my own. She takes a day off work, treats herself to a drive in the country and leaves 50’s starlet fiction and bites of toffee treacle honey sugar on my doorstep before ringing the bell and skipping away. She reads the language of my face. She paints the clouds with a thousand different reminders, then captures them in a butterfly net and pins them to my wall. She’s the ink and words from a Golden Book come to life. She plays the Mad Hatter so I can play Alice. She knows about the hidden debris, the mess, the harrowed whispers you don’t ever say out loud. I shot this image on November 2, 2008 right after our first rain in many months…..the roses seemed almost jubilent and full of life after the torrential and much welcomed downpour…...the sun was just peaking through the clouds for a short time, and the glow was made in heaven….......I hope you see the beauty and feel the peace just as I….... / /

The Cup and Saucer Vine, also known as the Mexican Climbing Vine when it was introduced in 1792 is actually Cobaea Scandens. It is a perennial plant in its native Mexico but usually it’s grown as an annual here. The plant will cover a large area, like a chain link fence or unsightly view, in one summer – it has a spread of about 25 feet in a year, and in midsummer, it bears cup and saucer flowers which emerge dramatically from green calyxes. The vine climbs by tendrils borne at the ends of its leaves, so it can be placed against a trellis or grown up a rough surfaced wall. The flowers are the wonder of this plant: they start out as green, five-cornered, papery buds, then open to reveal the green saucer and bell-shaped flower. The pale green flower becomes striped with violet, finally changing to deep purple before dropping off the plant. The stamens descend outside the flower and are long, arching and tipped with golden pollen, giving the plant its final touch of elegance. The foliage and tendrils are shaded with violet and are beautiful from spring to late autumn frosts.
