  • Here’s an image I’ve sat on for a few months undecided whether or not it’s RB worthy, but finally decided to test the RB waters to see if anyone likes it as I do… I guess I’m my own worst critic but I’ll see what you think first before I decide whether I leave this one up or not! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Basia.. /

  • Two buds waiting for their turn to dazzle in the spring sunshine. / Remember tho this is scotland… I brought this houseplant into a (so far this year unused) ‘summerhouse’ during a sunny interval , but my model and I had to soon dash for cover to avoid frost damage…. :)) See also moment in the sun I found it hard to choose between these 2 images so have posted both . ... any tips or comments most welcome….(a nice change from mouldy apple macros at least i hope!) Untouched apart from cropping / / :) / /

  • I took this photo at Cypress Bend in western Louisiana.

  • Ranunculus flower – to cheer us all up on these dark days of winter (well it is dark in this hemisphere – no accounting for those of you who live on the upside-down side of the planet, rofl!) ;o)))

  • This picture took a long time to create. The flowers (Chamaescilla corymbosa) are very common in the bush near my home, but they are also very tiny, so it is difficult to create a frame free of “clutter”. I wanted the orange flower to be an out-of-focus background contrast to the main blooms, while having all the stamens sharp. Lots of time lying down with the tripod in amongst the jackjumpers! Velvia scan. “Dance with me!” was featured in the group A Beautiful Blur.

  • Don’t eat them… haha…. This is growing in my front yard, but I have no idea what kind of tree it is. It has pretty blossoms in the spring though. Enjoy!

  • I shot this image today 11/28/08 at 2:00 in the afternoon…...I have never in my entire life seen a double blossom….and here in my own rose garden is a Double Beauty .........I have edited out some unsightly background and improved on the lighting just a tad….I hope you all enjoy this as much as I! • This is inside of a kapok tree bloom. The Kapok tree is an emergent tree of the tropical rainforests, and is often described as majestic. It can grow to a height of 150 feet or more, towering over other trees in the rainforest. Originally a native to South America it now has spread to the primary rainforests of West Africa, and the Southeast Asian rainforests of the Malay Peninsula, and the Indonesian archipelago and a few here in Florida.
