This photo turned out better than I had expected. It was taken at Minter Gardens here in BC.
Life is always next to the death
Photograph
I took this photograph when I was passing a wild lantana bush which was absolutely buzzing (sorry!) with bees. This little fellow stayed still long enough for me take this photograph, then he was gone. I think this lantana bush is really beautiful. I can understand why the bees are attracted to it. I’m sure it is not just the pollen!
I took this in a very pretty area of Spain in September. The mountains were the perfect backdrop to the delicate late blooming Jasmine. In the evening the Jasmine scents the air and during the day the small flowers sway in the breeze.
I took this photograph of the majestic King Protea flower in May 2008. It was part of the May Day celebrations here in our town in Spain. I had never seen this flower before and took the photograph because it was so interesting. Look at it close up and it is the most unusual flower.
I took this photograph of an early flowering Pansy in February smiling in the sunshine. I think they look like they have faces and can talk to you. Hence the title “What Are You Looking At?”.
I took this photo of my lovely lantana bush last July when it was in full bloom. Bees are attracted to it and sometimes it is completely covered. This is one of my favourite plants.
I found these beautiful pink trumpets shaped flowers while out and about during October. I have no idea what they are called, but I thought they were very pretty.

I really enjoy seeing purple and green together. These pretty blooms were hiding away in a little shady spot down the road from where I live. Sunlit and delicate, the textures here are beautiful. The soft purple petals really come alive against the bright green leaves. Shadow gives the photograph depth and a sense of coziness. It’s a very modest and gentle display. There’s this lovely ash tree by the golf course – down the street and around the corner from where I live. I saw it and just started clicking away, so taken by so many shades of green on one tree. And those lovely bits of yellow. I really like the naturally crossing branches in this shot. Photo taken in Delta, British Columbia (Canada) with a Canon PowerShot A1000 IS camera.
