I found this double pink hibiscus in full bloom during a walk around my town. The frilly petals make this a stunning flower and the slightly darker veins of pink running through the petals create interest. This photograph was taken in September 2007.

Taken with a Canon Digital Rebel using an 18-55mm lens. Staghorn sumac (Rhus typhina) is a small deciduous tree that can grow to heights of 10 meters (30+ feet). It is a member of the Anacardiaceae or Cashew family, and is a native to eastern North America. The staghorn sumac can be found growing naturally from the Ontario and Quebec provinces of Canada south to northern Georgia and Mississippi in the United States. / The most identifiable feature of the staghorn sumac are its bright red conical blooms of densely packed red drupes which grow from the terminal ends of the branches.
