Day Lillies are another of my favorite flowers! Maybe because I seem to have a “green thumb” with them and not some other kinds! lol! I’ll take whatever blooms when I plant it!!

Orange Daylily- Hemerocallis fulva Plant: Erect perennial 16-20 cm tall, from thick, spreading rootstock. Leaves: Many basal sword-like, channelled. Flowers: Tawny orange, funnel shapped, about 9-12 cm across wit 6 spreading teplas (the petals are wavy edged), 6 stamens and a style with a cap-like stigma; 6-15 flowers in loose branched cluster. Blooms: June to August Fruits: Oblong, 3 sided capsules Habitat: Meadows, streambanks, roadsides. Distribution: Eurasia; naturalized in Eastern U.S. and Canada and some western states. - Ontario Wildflowers- 101 wayside Flowers- Linda Kershaw. This flower grows like a weed all over The Kawarthas and area- Peterborough Ont and surrounding area. I have seen it bloom with a double bloom like these one’s as well as the single bloom more commonly seen.! This is from the roadside, of Highway 7, by my home in Norwood Ont Canada.
