I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. My daughter Mila (2) and I were messing around with my camera while she took her bath. Actually, I was kind of experimenting with ISO 1600 and Topaz, seeing as they claim that if you buy their Topaz DeNoise filter you can save yourself thousands because you won’t need a better camera or lens, you can just take noisy pictures and run them throught the DeNoise filter. I’ve been longing for a Canon 5D MkII, but have settled for the DeNoise filter in the meantime… definitely not the same, but also definitely much cheaper!! ( : Anyway, I quite like the effect, although I’m not sure that you can really claim that cheap camera + topaz = expensive camera… Camera Model Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/80 / Av( Aperture Value ) 2.8 / Metering Mode Evaluative Metering / ISO Speed 1600 / Lens EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM / Focal Length 100.0 mm / Photoshop CS2, Topaz DeNoise
A little girl with her grandmothers spirit. Commisioned watercolour on paper. approx 15 inch wide.
Featured in Family Unlimited / Featured in Love For Your Children / —September 09 -- thank you very much! Mila (2) keeps sitting on the window sill to keep me company while I run on my treadmill and the light behind her is so pretty that I keep wanting to take a shot. In the end I indulged my desire to take yet another portrait of Mila, as I so often do. Now maybe I can run on my treadmill tomorrow without itching to get hold of my camera. I hope so. For some reason my little two year old girly girl, Mila, is passionate about snails… could be the influence of her older wiser brother, Hudson, I suppose. Anyway, after every rainstorm she goes out and ransacks the garden for snails, carrying them around in bunches, or filling plastic containers with hundreds of the slimy little buggers, leaving them oozing snail slime and overflowing behind bedroom doors or under the table, for me to step on later… Camera Model Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL / Shooting Date/Time 2009/10/14 01:57:44 PM / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/60 / Av( Aperture Value ) 6.3 / ISO Speed 200
Fictional digital painting made with Photoshop. / Full view please Dear little doll series… / POLLY / EUGENIA / MUFFIE / VALERIE / TIFFANY Since this is my first attemp to paint digitaly I thought to share with you that I’m feelng a little weird … huh… correction: I’m feeling very weird. For accuracy, I feel like one of my characters – my eyes are wide open (out of anticipation for what will happen next); my brows draw together and my mouth is stretch horizontally (laughs). It’s like the fist time I did upload my first painting, excactly one year back. It’s a very big suprise to me. I’d never thought that I will ever paint digitally – really, it just came suddenly before 2 … I don’t quite remember exact maybe 3 nights. Anyway, I felt that I need a “break” from my beloved brushes, paints and canvases. The most imporant, I want to clear my mind a bit from the Halloween series calendar cause I’d hated to make something that it won’t be inspired and absolute authentic from me. So it may be ready far long after Halloween… laughs… maybe it will be ready in Christmas time xxx Back to that night ➪ Of course I ended up to make my office like a bombed place with charcoals, pastels… Water and ink running below my keyboard and on the floor… just imagine. / / The good from all this destruction is a little face I did, a totally scarp face but I did love it from the first moment ♥ (and it looks like me too :) So much that I couldn’t leave it in the mess that was! Here you can see it: / ☯ So concluding, all the dollies of this series are based in this little one scrap face, always in the same position but each one of them has a different personality. All the names of the dollies are names from existing famous dolls. Ok I will stop talking now, / I’m leaving you view my work and I really hope you like it.
