Have you ever looked at something and thought ahhh a capture some day. Today was the day of the first attempt. It was a freaking blizzard out. High winds out in the country in my area the farmers call windswept. I headed into town for brunch at the pub. The roads were clear if you call two feet of snow in the good parts clear. High winds.. no courage to go to the tree. So after a good brunch and a few shots of whiskey neat style. I came back home.. I felt daring. Pushing snow with a big four wheel drive truck I went. There it was.. I fell in love. Out in the winds with the snow blowing hard I set the camera on a bean bag my wife made me for this purpose. Focus , Light , Frame, Oh God please.. Here is the first one. Maybe more. When a new sky appears.. storms or sunset we shall see.. I hope you find it in your heart to view large. I do so love you all on RB.. / Chuck This Was Written By Ari..( Aritheeagle ) Thank You Can you tell? Can you tell / its me / Blizzard Tree / out there / so tall / so free / another season / shall walk away / another ring / round my bark / rain and sunshine / blizzard or snow / this marriage of time / shall flow / right here / where I belong / in this moment / therefore / I am / Blizzard Tree! ~Ari Buy This As A Gift For The Ones Who Left The Farm
More art than photo, really… took this in a near-whiteout at Perisher, and extracted the main tree by massively increasing contrast and levels. Hence the slight fuzziness, hence the large drop-off in detail behind the tree, and hence (I think) the rather pleasing effect!
This is the other capture that I really liked.. I decided to upload it for those whom may not of liked the barns in the background.. Or maybe just wanted to view the tree in the snow storm.. I really do like this and will be the last of it in winter.. Thanks for your support of Blizzard Tree … PLEASE VIEW LARGE Chuck.. A Living Room Wall Art
Mt. Hood, Oregon on a very snowy day. No one on the lifts.
This was taken on a late afternoon when I’d just escaped the office following a particularly fraught encounter with an unpleasant person. Ahh…wonderful the way photography can be an escape sometimes! I had gone for a drive just to clear my head and was driving along a country road on this windy, cold day when there was a sudden blizzard. It was severe enough there were whiteout conditions but the amazing thing about it was the way it was so isolated. I drove out of it within about two minutes. When I doubled back along a parallel road I drove right back into the blizzard again and all of a sudden the sun shone through a break in the clouds. It was quite an extraordinary sight. I stopped the car to see if I could get a picture of it and was almost blinded by the 60 km. per hour winds blowing snow into my eyes….and worse, the camera! :-) Location: Halton Hills, Ontario
The winds were really whipping up the snow the day I took this. It was the same day I took Blizzard Sunset and the sky was most unusual with bits of sun filtering through the snow and clouds. HollyCawfieldPhotography
The wind was just starting to blow up a storm and put a dusting of snow on this bison.
Also posted at: messa.deviantart.com This features a character from a story I am writing. Her name is Alice, and she is following someone through the wintery woods. I think this might be a dream sequence because she wouldn’t be able to survive harsh climates in that clothing otherwise!

This was taken in a full on blizzard. This tree was about as far as I could see. / I had to use a slow shutter speed to avoid getting blurs from the snow. It only took a few seconds to take this, but I still had snow in my viewfinder, and it was as cold as it looks.
Dedicated to my wonderful friend Julia / She is so wonderful and the background and girl in this is from her wonderful stock that she always lets me use. I thank her from my heart! / /
a rare snowfall in burnley (well, rare in that we never have snow that sticks, despite it being the north of england!)
Coyote plowing through deep snow in ever-lasting search of a mouse or other morsal to eat.
Snow swept across the Isle of Wight for the first time in a long time, earlier this month…
This little Chipping Sparrow perches on a branch with its feathers puffed up as a defense against the icy blast of a surprise Spring blizzard. Shot in my backyard in the apple orchard. This image has sold as a framed print in Tigert Art Gallery of Vermillion, South Dakota as well as a matted print through RedBubble.
View through the tree’s after the blizzard ended.
This was the same day during the snow storm. From a different view and roadway. It was pretty as it was with the whites and shades. I wanted to do something a bit different with my software. I came up with this at the end. I hope you find its view pleasing in its alteration. Need A Fall Halloweenish Card ?

When I saw this scene I thought it looked as though Mother Nature was taking back what was hers. The stone of the building meets the force of nature head on… an epic battle of the ages. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography /
It’s snowing hard in Colorado….. finally! Then it just stopped at about 1:00PM. The sun is trying to shine through the dense clouds. So far I only have a foot of snow. It wont last…. I shouldn’t speak too soon… LOL! There goes our spring blooms…. / /
