I saw this woman as i wandered through a Rwandan hospital. There, in the stark hospital room, she sat admiring this tiny creature with such love and gentleness. Her contentment of knowing that this tiny baby was hers. / I could not resist but to capture it.

I wish I could come up with a better name for her… scratch that, I wish I could come up with ANY name for her actually. Oh well… maybe it’s better that way. Anyway, it was more so tedious than time-consuming but I’m satisfied with the result. I’ll probably experiment with different color schemes at a later point. It really looks like it has alot of potential in that department. Comments would be appreciated! Toodloo

Sacred Circles The ancient motifs of basic circle and spiral are widely recognized as metaphors for fertility, continuity, and the Goddess. Simplicity is deceiving, because the spiraling circle is also the template of physical reality. The design and proportion of sunflower heads, pine cones and snail shells are only a few examples. DNA, cell division, whirlpools, hurricanes, our galaxy, the nature of time itself are all based upon the same blueprint; wholeness and all life being interconnected. Its not surprising many earth centered and eastern cultures emphasize circle and spiral in religious and spiritual philosophy, but abstract thought such as Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, physics, the Golden Ratio, and Phi are all based upon it. Life on the physical, mental and spiritual plane is the spiraling inward/outward journey. Star fire burns in the nucleus of every cell; we are spiritual beings who’ve forsaken our origins. We are all relations; claim the birthright and initiate mending the hoop of the world. Parent to child we form a living bridge, the umbilical cord connecting past with future. / Maybe the universe herself is in a fetal stage, drifting upon the silent current of space and time that is the womb of the great goddess. MARION CHAMPMAN is a wonderful artist and a lover of patterns and design.. Printmaking and experimenting with all kinds of materials and colors.. she really turns my head.. Marion… truth be told.. Kauai is not a very pastel-y place.. so I took my photo and gave it a Marion Wash.. I love this shot..I do not know what this is but I spent some time with this guy..It was a very tall tree and that is how the leaves grow on it.. no branches!! Marion’s Chapman’s Pastels inspired Maddy of Smudge ARt Fame to write a most lovely lovely piece.. My gratitude for the Love here is ever growing.. Thank YOu Maddy! What beauty is this I behold ? / “A feast to ones eye”, I am told. / Leaves wrapped in soft hues. / Colors of gold, red and spiritual blues. “A tree without branches ”, she did say. / Just leaves that enfold it in every way. / Lina sad, this tree amazed me so, / I could not look at it and just let it go. It inspired me until I returned home, / In my minds eye, this is the tone. / I know Creator left this for me to do, / So I painted it gold, red and spiritual blue.

Ever dreamed of sneaking away to a quiet, tranquil spot…lush vegetation, hearing the sounds of the forest and spending the day relaxing, reading a good book and having the most yummy picnic? / Well here is a little oasis I created. It looks a lot like an area of New Zealand called the Marlborough Sounds. What childhood memories are made of. The old bach (or crib)...simple holiday home with comfortable but basic living conditions. Getting away from the rat race.

This is what she has to say about love today : “Love means being surrounded by redbubblers everyday.” Time rockets! Had some pockets of reflection and guess what…have been here on RB for 2 months already, I just entered my 3rd month :D Life on RB has been so enjoyable and enriching for me but I have one major regret. That is I should have joined much earlier. I remembered when I first joined this community, Fa assured me that this is the most vibrant online community that she has ever experienced and that I would enjoy my stay here…and of course, she’s right!! As I am staying in a foreign country(I’m a Singaporean living in Thailand) and working alone most of the times, RB has given me much support in terms of creative expression and a great pool of friends whom I know care for me. I wouldnt dare ask for more :D Truly grateful for all the friends whom I have made over these months,friends who have constantly provided feedback and comments to my work, both here and in my smile4me gallery, who have favorited my works and exchanged numerous bmails with..I owe my beautiful stay in RB to all of you! This little piece of artwork is me saying THANK YOU to all you beautiful people out there!! :D /

Acrylic On Canvas Concept: Ophelia having some solitude, she’s meditating on what love is all about…love between lovers, between friends, between parents and children, between teacher and students, between owners and their pets and etc….the greatest love is when one is willing to lay down his/her life(others-seeking and not self-seeking) for another person whom he/she loves. While painting this, it also reminds me of a famous chinese love tale, “The Butterfly Lovers”....thus a pair of butterflies. It is a tragic tale about how a couple could only find their love bliss after they pass on and both became butterflies.I’m contented to have found my bliss :D View my other “Love Meditations” creations at my Zazzle store:

Acrylic On Canvas Ophelia,Phoebe and Mel having fun on the elephant’s back….and elephant was pleased to have their company as well! :D This was painted in May’08 and I remembered I had a yearning to want to visit Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand :D..so that was why I painted these 3 friends having an outing with the elephant….because there are many elephant reserves there in Chiang Mai, where they protect these precious animals from harm.
