Who can resist these eyes? This image is a reproduction of my original color pencil painting on drafting paper of ’”Blink” a beautiful cat owned by a fellow artist. “Blink” was placed Second in the Painting – Drawing Any Subject category at the 2008 Canning Show (First Place was awarded to my colour pencil painting “We Three Kings II – Lion” and Third to “Noble” my German Shepherd Dog in charcoal (yes I was very pleased with this Hat Trick!).

In a magical moment between night and day, there is a special place and time. The time between seconds, when light and dark both have equal play. / So quick, so fleeting, this special time. / The blink of an eye and it is gone again. / The catch of a breath in the cold morning air, this special time between. / It is my passion to capture this time. / To freeze it and hold it forever. / An endless journey, an endless quest. / This one small moment in time. / Deri Dority 2007

So before Danny interrupted me with all this WWWWWWW bollocks, I had been working on this idea, and then I kind of nicked my own concept for his challenge, but I thought I’d put this up anyway. Originally the doves morphed into AK47s but I thought this displayed more hope, I won’t explain it, it’s too obvious, and JJDegrade will freak out, but yes, the effects are embedded into your spine. You have no choice. (Ignore the quality of the previews below, they’re screenshots, don’t panic, I haven’t gone all amateur)

This is our little chihuahua, Casper, in his favourite place (my bed). Trying hard not to wake up! This little fellow came to us as a rescue chihuahua after bad treatment (he was washed in a caustic solution to get rid of fleas, and hence had his skin burned …. but he is fine now). this image featured in the group Cats and Dogs, one per day in March 2009. Thanks so much! and featured in the group Paws and Claws in March 2009. Thanks again!

D80 Nikon at Sapporo Zoo – my mate the Red Panda / Thanks for my Featured in Canon v Nikon. / There are millions of people with Nikon cameras, so for my shot to be / featured is an honour. Partly due to the cute face of a red panda :o) For a 10MP camera the D80 is a sweet machine. Focusing and exposure / are the key to any shot and it has very, very, very rarely ‘let me down’. Photography is part luck, part skill, part timing, part camera. / When these all come together I get a shot like this one. / Thanks again, Paul
