  My wife and daughter have been ok’d to journey with to Peru this summer to help build an orphanage for the Garbage Dump Kids of Trujillo. Being a nurse my wife will be doing mecial checkups for the kids. Needless to say we have a lot of money to raise between now and July so all my sales from now until then will be donated to Amp-up which is the Youth Group organzing this trip and the building of the orphanage. I beleive this to be a huge opportunity for growth for our family. Please keep my two favorite ladies in your prayers. Thanks Mike

  Late last evening I stepped outside to let the dog take his final run. It was warm and humid, almost clammy. Sometimes there’d be a breez…

  Late last evening I stepped outside to let the dog take his final run. It was warm and humid, almost clammy. Sometimes there’d be a breeze, othertimes all was still. The dark night air was fresh and alive, probably because there’s a forest preserve directly across the street. The aromas of leaves, mold, wild flowers, damp soil and grasses were carried to me within that fragrance. Is this the perfume of nature spirits, deer folk, and fairie folk? Inhaling such air is medicinal, the molocules enter our bloodstream and convey living green essence to every cell. Just one of the many ways we are connected to all that is, for these molocules nourish and build new cells, becomeing part of us. I seek it out whenever I can. After one fitful gust there was a dry, rustling sound issuing from all directions, yet the wind had stopped abruptly. Before I could determine exactly what was happening (other than thinking immidiatly that this wasn’t common and wondering who or what was creating the disturbance) a nearby tree released a shower of narrow, yellow leaves, a curtain of movement. During the next few magical seconds something miraculous occurred. Against the dark background these leaves were all flashing yellow and gold, flickering slivers luminous and silouetted by turns while falling through the glow of a distant street lamp. There wasnt a sound other than leaves landinf softly on grass and brick. What was strange is rather than drift, these little leaves fell, spinning and twirling, directly to earth. In less than a minute it was over as abruptly as it had begun. The night was silent but for crickets and traffic. If I were to define this moment in watercolro pigments, they would be indigo, neutral tint, cadmium yellow light, and yellow ochre with just a touch of sap green. I’m still wondering about the sudden rustling sound just before the release, because the breeze had stopped seconds before. It was the only tree that did this, the rest still have leaves, and green leaves at that. I love when things like this happen, they make my day and I relive them again and again in my heart. Someday this may become a painting, or maybe not. It dosnt matter. I think many of the peoelp here on RB understand this. Then who knows where the road will lead us? All very exciting but I havent been able to tune is as normal due to the 22 parrots I have to arrange & adopt out for the time out!   I would just like to add my sincere congratulations to ALL the artists, photographers and writers on their work being judged and chosen as worthy winners in the Gaia competition. I humbly include myself in that and count it a real honour and privilege to be counted amongst such a talented group of artists in their own fields of expertise. / I count it all joy, a thrill and a real Blessing not only to have the honour of being chosen but also to be Blessed to be in the right place at the right time to witness one of the true marvels of God’s Creation and the reality of one of His Promises made to man so many years ago that has remained down through the ages as a Testament to His Goodness and Faithfulness to us. / I would also like to thank Redbubble admin. for their support and ALL those that have taken the time to view my images, especially “The Covenant”, favourite them and make such wonderful encouraging comments, they, along with the fellowship and community spirit here on RB, ALL add up to make it a worthwhile and rewarding time in my life !!
