Today as my eyes fluttered open, I thought of the day ahead; / A list of things I wanted to do were forming in my head. / And as I lay there pondering my day, I heard music in the air; / It was the sound of birds sweetly singing, with not a worry or a care. / I was thrilled to hear them sing their song, thats how they start their day; / And the list of things I had thought to do was slowly going away. / It made me realize why God made birds, for every morning they sing His praise; / They must get up early, singing their song, to be first to praise His name. / Thank you Lord for this mornings blessing, for my blessing was to open my eyes; / May the first thing on my daily list be, to first give thanks with the birds in the sky. / B&L

Sometimes things become more in focus and real than you can ever imagine. I cannot judge. It is simultaneously both beneath me, and beyond my jurisdiction as just human. This Man crossed my path and made me feel that I was too warm, comfortable and had no right to be anything but myself. Then the power of this Man, descended upon me like the house from Oz . Crossing his path made me think and feel. And that is what makes passion. Feeling what is inside of yourself, and acting upon it.

This country is constantly going through changes and we discuss them all the time at my house. We don’t usually agree but we do discuss them. One night after one of these discussions about the current war I saw these flags and was reminded of just how important what these soldiers and all soldiers have ever sacrificed for us. You all have brought a great warm welling feeling for me and that of eternal gratitude and humility. / You are all such wondeful people I am in the low mountains at an area called Toten by the town Gjoevik, Recouping 14 days to 3 weeks, good food alot of rest and training here. Waking up in the dark of the night / feeling sores healing / no sleep without something / a thankkyou you to you all / a painkiller and back to sleep / Be back soon take care . .

I love Autumn and there have been many years I missed most of this season in dooors, working away, oblivious to the changes taking place around me. Autumn has always been a very busy season in the retail business and my responsibilities increase this time of year. This year and last year, I made a point to schedule some vacation time in late October. I spent a long weekend in the Ozark National Forest enjoing all that Autumn has to offer. I also spent some time in the forest of middle Tennessee. One thing we noticed is that this year’s Autumn in very different than last year. Besides the color being more prominent, the ground is also more fruitful. We witnessed tons and tons of nuts of all kinds scattered in abundance on the forest floor. Trees bearing fruit, several on every branch, falling plentifully upon the ground. The bushes and trees are full of berries. Does this mean we are in for a long winter. The funny thing is, I did not notice large numbers of squirrels and other animals gathering them. Many lie on the ground untouched, in large numbers. This has been food for thought into just what this means. It seems we have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving that will soon be upon us. Luke 10:2 And He was saying to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Leviticus 25:1-7 NAS / The LORD then spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I shall give you, then the land shall have a sabbath to the LORD. ‘Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard and gather in its crop, but during the seventh year the land shall have a sabbath rest, a sabbath to the LORD; you shall not sow your field nor prune your vineyard. ‘Your harvest’s aftergrowth you shall not reap, and your grapes of untrimmed vines you shall not gather; the land shall have a sabbatical year. 6 ‘All of you shall have the sabbath {products} of the land for food; yourself, and your male and female slaves, and your hired man and your foreign resident, those who live as aliens with you. ‘Even your cattle and the animals that are in your land shall have all its crops to eat. Thursday, December 11, 2008, is a red-letter, or should I say white-letter, day here in the Deep South. Beginning about 4 a.m., snow (or sneaux as the Cajun French in us likes to spell it) began to fall softly and to accumulate. It’s been 20 years since our last snowfall, and we are having a ball. After the devastation of Hurricane Gustav in September of this year, we feel blessed by this gentle touch of nature on our ravaged land. It’s like a healing balm for us. Some of you may remember seeing this angel in the post-Gustav storm picture where my house was not even visible with all the downed trees (fifteen in all)! Here’s the same angel from a different angle. I took it around 5:30 a.m. before daylight when the snow was coming down in big flakes. I’m so happy today, and I’d like to send special thanks to Elaine Farmer who prayed a prayer of blessing for me only yesterday. Elaine, I think this is an answer to your sweet prayer. Love to all! Bonnie P.S. Those of you who have snow on a regular basis might think I’m silly, but this is a BIG thing for those of us who experience this white wonder only a handful of times in a life span.

This is one shot in Black and White! I have always loved the light given off by the moon, and looked like lite from a full moon, hence my title! This image was added for my friends, and their loved ones, and especially all those seving to protect the freedom we hold so dear! I wish them all, a very special holiday season, and a joyous new year, no matter what their current statis is! I hope we all will someday live in peace, and even more will be home with their families and loved ones!

A bald eagle perched atop a bare tree and looking intensely around him reminded me of Rick and Scot, two nephews, who are serving our country in the Middle East, both of them on their second tour of duty, both having served in Iraq and Afghanistan, both with wives and children at home, both brave and giving young men. I would like to dedicate this image (taken at Amelia, Louisiana, on January 1, 2009) to Rick and Scot and to their families who are also very vital components in the defense of freedom.
