This is an arching Dicentra or Bleeding Heart spray. I have tried to use the arching stem to lead the eye into the sharply focused tip. / I wanted the bigger blooms to be in varying degrees of focus so that when you come to the main bloom….. POW. It’s got you fixed. 300mm lens used at f5.6 to blur background foilage. Thanks for looking, Nick

There is really only a very vague similarity to the characters in the classic Hans Christian Andersen story. I adapted the characters and melded them into a vision I had of beauty and betrayal and birds; though mine look more like seagulls than ravens, and the beautiful girl is linked with, and becoming birds herself. In this state she can self-inflict pain and actually draw blood. It’s all very convoluted and doesn’t quite make sense. What pleased me greatly was the fact that the painting was bought by a listed Australian Artist for his personal collection. The medium used was damped out tissue paper, acrylics, ink, and Liquitex. There is more symbolism in the painting which is difficult to interpret, and some of it I don’t like thinking about, as it opens doors long closed. I was fairly pleased with some of the line work, and I think I achieved the coldness I was seeking. Thanks for looking,

This is something that was inspired by many horror films (particularly Silent Hill) and the occasional personal nightmares.
It needs more than a band-aid..
Apparently these flowers are also called Dutch trousers. There is nothing that comes close to the shape of Dutch trousers in my wardrobe… / / Example of Dutch trousers Have a look at my other photos. A beautifully back-lit Bleeding Heart. The plant lives along my house which is dark brown and gave a nice dark background. The sun was low and lighting the flowers nicely. The pretty lens flare was a matter of luck!
Greeting Card Dicentra Spectabilis.
I suggest a black frame and off-white mat for this photo. - Troy Photo ID: 20096683
Dicentra spectabilis, dutchman’s breeches or bleeding Heart? I prefer the more romantic name…
