This photo was taken on top of The Bluff, near Mt Buller in Victoria. Shows the hot sun on an area that will be covered by snow in winter and buffeted by strong winds year around. Rather harsh environment.

So I was catching up on my Bleach the other day… And, well, sometimes they use english phrases that don’t always sound particularly correct OR just sound kind of awkward…. SO… While watching an episode I noticed Ichigo was wearing a t-shirt that said this :P I thought it was awesome. It’s super simple, considering that it’s pretty much all text (save the little star at the bottom right), but that’s ok now and then, yeah?

Through a forest trail, the sunshine lights up a Maple leaf that has taken on a bleached appearance, due to enduring the elements of a long winter. I took this because, I not only liked the way the leaf was bleached and backlit by the sun, but also that it hung gingerly from a branch and among other branches that sported new emerging leaf buds. To me it represents that winter is almost over and spring is coming soon! “PHOTO INFORMATION” Taken on Feb 3/09 at 1:26 pm along a forest path in the Cedar area, while walking with one of my photo friends, Heather. / Camera; Canon 40D / Lens; EF 100-400 f4-5.6 IS L USM Lens. / Tripod; Manfrotto, including joystick head / Taken in Raw & aperture priority / Taken at 1/800’s at f/6.3, 380 mm, manual col bal 6200 kelvin, iso 800. / Downloaded to Lightroom, where I changed the histogram from medium to linear, uploaded to PhotoshopCS2 and sharpened via lab mode, duplicate layer, lightness channel, unsharpmask ( amount 40, radius 3, threshold 3). No cropping!
