Hi all :) / I’m pleased to announce the opening of our 3rd competition. / The title & theme is: / Stillness Speaks From the Branches This competition is to honour our precious TREES. / How can you best demonstrate the beauty of a tree? What captures it’s essence? Old and new, trees help us with the air we breathe, without them, we would be lost. So take this time to Reflect upon the gift of life…and show us the TREE of life :) Rules / 1. Contest images must be tagged “SSCOMP3” / 2. Maximum of 2 entries per person. / 3. Old or new, the image must adhere to the Stillness Speaks Guidelines. / 4. Contest Entries cannot contain anything other then nature…people ARE acceptable, but only as a SECONDARY to the tree. To clarify: The TREE MUST BE THE FOCAL POINT OF THE IMAGE Any images not meeting these 4 criteria will not be considered as a finalist. This was taken at the Calgary Zoo in their butterfly sanctuary. If you look close, you can still see the wrinkles on this guys’ wings, He had just crawled out of his cacoon.

Last summer, my daughter was obsessed with Snails. I have well over a dozen pictures of her and her snails because she would come running “Mommy take a picture…Hims’ my friend” / But of all the snail pictures, this one remains my favorite because of the way her little hairs are standing up as this snail makes his way across her arm. /
