Everything that is created and every idea evolves from somewhere, and that somewhere doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the final destination, this is just a shirt with a pattern on it, and the pattern can mean a thousand things beyond one point, and not stating something it may or may not mean doesn’t mean that ‘it doesn’t or does mean it’. / . / I was reading yet another another article on some fancy new telescope that assisted us in being able to see stars form in the galaxy around the time of the Big Bang, if there ever was a Big Bang, and I remembered how I used to love this stuff, but now I think it’s time we accepted how our view up has increased our awareness of our own vulnerability and we thought about looking down at least as much. The nearest star (apart from the sun) is about 4.2 light years away, which would take about 90,000 years to get to in Voyager 2. So we’re not getting there anytime soon. At present we appear to be destroying this planet, and aware of it, so really that’s a lot like suicide. Priorities people. The blade is made of an image of the oldest galaxy we’ve found, and I stencilled it so I could use paint drips rather than blood. I’m trying to avoid blood these days. And I’m no astronomer, if my information is incorrect please blame the internet as a whole for lying. And go and ask this man, Mr Dave Pearson who actually does know what he is talking about and to whom I dedicate this tee and my new thoughts about it.

What if the God of War was the Goddess of War?
Painted for the Gallery 696 birthday show opening April 1st – the brief was ‘greyscale with a hint of colour’. The side wall of the gallery is about to get a new graf makeover in greyscale. Can’t wait to see it! I’ve always thought sea dragons had fold out accessories…didn’t you? Watercolour, chalk pastel, ink, conte, iridescent pigments and metal leaf on canvas. The shiny bits: /
The Black Queen-Knight’s Pawn / Artist: Simon Sherry / Biography: Danny The Little Sisters , as they’re commonly known (there is no room for affection in the Army of the Black Spear) are much like their male counterparts and are more than capable to form their own ranks on the battlefield . They will usually fraternize with the King-Knight’s pawns, who are more often than not their husbands and neighbours. / Though it is uncommon for these warrior women to aim their sites for promotion to the rank of Queen-Knight, it is not unusual for one to occasionally rise to the rank of Queen herself, such is the turn-over rate for the role of King’s Consort.
Another self-portrait for my photography final, “Fragmented Self-Image”. I was bulimic with anorexic tendencies for a few years. / In a way, eating was a painful and difficult thing to do, and I always regretted eating. I felt as if anything I consumed would do harm and damage to my body. / Altered the title to Anorexia Bulimia, because it applies to both, not just anorexia. I was mostly bulimic anyway, and felt this way all the time.
Dangerous Days was the original name of the screenplay and film, Blade Runner. An interpretation of the city view, especially with the opening sequence in mind. A Replicant looks on, knowing her time is short. Blade Runner is one of my favourite movies of all time, and the book is another favourite, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? On a similar theme: Dangerous Days: and Nexus 6
Every Halloween my mother sifted through my Halloween candy when I got home because she said that she needed to check it for “razor blades.” Needless to say, she never found one. I actually did the kids in this piece about a year ago, but never dropped in a background. After digging it up last week I thought that maybe, just maybe I should finish it…you know, rather than simply letting it get crumpled up in my closet. I think I made the right choice.
A fanciful depiction of the psyche of a Replicant, which has the form of a human, yet the soul of blasphemous creation, a Golem, a Frankenstein, a tormented being, anxious and deranged, knowing its time is short and its end inevitable. The spider patterning exudes the replicant’s un-empathic nature, the thing that separates them from humans. If you haven’t, check out Philip K. Dick’s Novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. It is brilliant. See also:

Lurking in the shadows; right inside your house. Skin dead and torn; needing someone elses fluids. The knife is ever ready to open flesh and free the red liquid within.
Dangerous Days was the original name of the screenplay and film, Blade Runner. The lighting seemed reminiscent of the volumetric lights used in the movie. Blade Runner is one of my favourite movies of all time, and the book is another favourity, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Well, the answer is no! Apparently, they dream of Unicorns. Also:

‘Asa’ by F.M.Gore-Kelly – 2008 Asa means ‘Born At Dawn’
for the Blade Runner fans…
There seemed to be a lack of dragons in my portfolio so heres one, more following.
I recently captured this brief scene while on a photo adventure that seemed as if it would end in failure. As much as anything, this one is about hanging in there when all seems lost…
I was snowshoeing when I found Umptanum Creek dribbling into the Yakima River and along the shores I found this one blade of grass still covered in frost among the ice and moving water, kneeling in the ice and water to get this shot which no more than 6” from top to bottom I hope was worth it!
Shot with a macro lens. straight from camera. / Canon EFS 60mm f/2.8
Rains drops on a blade of grass after a down pour.
