Please visit Wikipedia’s definition of Psychedelic Arts to understand/learn more / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychedelic_art definition of psychedelic arts: (from Wikipedia) / Psychedelic art is art inspired by the psychedelic experience induced by drugs such as LSD, Mescaline, and Psilocybin. The word “psychedelic” (coined by British psychologist Humphrey Osmond) means “mind manifesting”. By that definition all artistic efforts to depict the inner world of the psyche may be considered “psychedelic”. However, in common parlance “Psychedelic Art” refers above all to the art movement of the 1960s counterculture. Psychedelic visual arts were a counterpart to psychedelic rock music. Concert posters, album covers, lightshows, murals, comic books, underground newspapers and more reflected not only the kaleidoscopically swirling patterns of LSD hallucinations, but also revolutionary political, social and spiritual sentiments inspired by insights derived from these psychedelic states of consciousness. PSYCHEDELIC INSPIRATIONS / The Art of Jeff Hopp / “I believe that true art is foremostly a form of communication. For me to be interested in a piece, it must tell me something. An artist can communicate many things…. ideas, emotions, events, beliefs, etc. As for my art, I am interested in illustrating events and experiences that I have witnessed on my spiritual journeys. It is a method of capturing moments that cannot be documented in any other way. / They are places that can’t be photographed, and I feel that is important to share them with others.” LINKS & RESOURCES PSYCHEDELIC ARTIST : JEFF HOPP RESOURCES : Psychedelic Arts @Squidoo PHOTOBLOG/IMAGES : Psychedelic Wallpapers & Posters

In my room I have one wall that is completely black that I paint random nothings on / I also have florescent paint that I paint with from time to time / a few months back I bought a black light and did an experiment with shutter speeds and exposures this one is NOT edited at all / I did not enhance the colors / I did not crop it / I did not sharpen it / if I remember right, I just slightly brightened it one thing about my work / I HATE to photoshop what I do / if I have to, I’ll retake photos for hours just to get it so I don’t have to edit it

““A disease is created in medical warfare. / Designed to send the living into a state of trance, their souls ripped form their bodies, and leaving them at a primitive state after a week of coming in contact with the disease. / They have no identity, and all they know is fear. / A pandemic broke loose, killing off 90% of the world as it advanced and signs began showing after only one hour of coming in contact. The infected burned and their ashes stored in a secret underground military base. / One trace lived on as society was re-built, for it never killed the animals it came into contact with. / A dog bit someone, and the disease was back, this time twice as strong, and the effects much greater. / The human race as we know it will cease to exist in a matter of days. / People start to lose faith in their God, and soon the suicide rate increases as faith goes down for fear of becoming infected. / It seems this sickness has gotten the best of human-kind. / There is no savior. There is no hope…” A paragraph from a short story I wrote after I saw 28 Days Later for the first time. I wanted to turn it into a school play, but seeing as I was in public school, somehow the whole “there is no savior” thing made the school board flip out because they didn’t want a “satanic” play because the christain administrator was offended. go figure. wasn’t even satanic in the least. hooray ignorance! This one has no glowsticks. Only black light. My friend used a very light blush, and that’s what gave her the pink color. The freckles are just natural (She’s a red head). / I have to make a note, though: I did NOT photoshop this in any way, other than slightly brighten it. I prefer to stay away from photoshop. I like to have my work amazing as the original. hah.

I did this piece using some image from photos taken of my friends on the last day magic mushrooms were legal in the UK. I based it on descriptions given to me as well as things I remembered hearing them say on that day. Acrylic paint, spray paint, broken CD on Canvas Orig. painted to be displayed under blacklight

This is a negative of my BumbleBee shot. I was awed by this. I added red hue, then put it in negative phase. I loved the way it glows such a blazing, brilliant green. Designed just for my “Green Group” and for “The Two Of Us” featuring the Buttercup as the BumbleBees Honey?

This is an image taken at a blacklight miniature golf park, but out of context makes for an interesting art piece.

I originally rendered this at over 150 inches in length and almost 50 inches high. Therefore, there is an incredible amount of detail in this piece. You Must see this one at 100%. I have a sample image of this piece showing a section at 100% zoom here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2035/2256763981_c1c452c7a7_o.jpg
