So much beauty can still be found in a flower that is starting to fade. This black eyed susan immediately caught my eye with all the wonderful autumn colors in its wilting petals. Photo taken in my garden – Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Note: Background was not digitally changed to black – that is the way the photo was taken :) FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

I’ve entered the word of layering images and it is SO MUCH FUN! After my first week of practice this is the first creation I felt was worthy of upload to RB. This work of art includes the combination of 2 images – a monarch butterfly, and a black-eyed susan. I enhanced the colors in 3 sections of the monarch’s wing to tie the colors in the composition together and purposely made the butterfly smaller than life. I have entered an entirely new world here and am excited at the possibilities that lie ahead as I search through my extensive collection of images for future works :o) / / Original floral image. / / FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

The sun tried to poke out today in Ohio, so here is a bright sun to fill the void!! As is
2007 Acrylic on Canvas 36×48” Laying in a field of Blackeye Susans, you come to me in my dreams that seem to last forever. In dreams I see you clear, your sweet ways, your deep blue eyes, that dance and tease, a poor boy’s delight. Your ruby lips touch, awaken me, again….. alone. Your kind and gentle heart .. ..Was it yesterday? I’ve lost track of time. The dreams go on and on longer then you are gone

On a recent trip to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and Antietam battlefield, Washington County, Maryland, USA, I braved the ferocious insects to photograph Burnside’s Bridge in the late afternoon light. The leaves were just beginning to show autumn colors. The arches of the stone bridge are reflected in the waters of Antietam Creek. The bright Black Eyed Susans catch the golden light.
An end of summer image, this is the same flower, takend in mid-life in my gallery.
