They visit us daily, and follow me along the trail whenever I go for a walk. I could be 3 property lines over and they will still follow me! It is not unusual for them to land on the end of my camera lens as I’m trying to frame a photo, or flutter around my legs, looking for their sunflower seeds. These little songbirds bring me more joy than I can ever truly express. What a gift they are! I would be filled with great sadness if they ever disappeared. They are a huge part of my passion for nature & wildlife photography and for capturing the beauty that surrounds us everywhere. This image was created by merging 2 of my chickadee in flight photos and then blending the sky together. Featured in Eye Contact July 6, 2009 Yes, believe it or not, this photo was taken with my Canon Rebel EOS XTi and my 100mm f/2.8 MACRO lens!
