I didn’t add anything last night to this description because I was extremely tired. I started this Idea as a painting, but I thought that I could do something more true to my original Idea as a digital Image. The blackbirds symbolize My siblings and I. My Older Sister, myself and my little brother.

This female blackbird appeared a couple of years ago and was in bad shape so we fed her and she got better. We called her Hayley because she waddles a bit and reminds me of Hayley in Coronation Street. When I’m gardening I hear her nearby sneezing! I think she has hayfever or something!!!! In this shot she is sitting sunbathing on the step outside my back door and couldn’t be bothered to move.

This one irritated me, even though I quite like the finished piece. I wanted it to be really elaborate, with lots of textures, an exciting horse as the featured animal, and really eye-catching. Alas, it was the complete opposite. I do however, quite like it. It’s so simple it irritates me, but the simplicity works. I wanted it to look oldish, that I achieved. Not much to say, just a horse whacked on a background, both with gaussian blur [yes, I have a fetish] and a texture to go on top. The bird was done with a brush, and the fonts are the most simple fonts you could ever find. Boring, but I like it. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- I would love any comments, tips or advice on what I could do next time to improve this or others I do in the future. Please keep in mind that this is NOT for sale, as I have gained permission to use the stock from various artists under the conditions that the pieces will not be resold. We normally overlook these beautiful birds and don’t even give them a second glance, it is the same for sparrows and starlings but in their own right they all are beautiful. The next time you see a starling look at it for a few minutes look at the many colours over it tiny body – cool or what?
