  • Floral Fireworks
    by Jeremy Harrington

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Okay well this morning I felt the urge to get out and finally take some new pics and the first thing that caught my eye was a bunch of dandelions that were starting to break apart.. However I didn’t feel like just taking a plain shot of a dandelion, I felt like doing something a tad more artistic, so today I have a series of three dandelion shots that I have processed in an artistic way to break free of the standard flower macro bounds.. I am open to all feedback because I will only keep shots uploaded that people think are worth being on the sight.. Thanks for having a look! With this image I decided to go with something completely different in that rather than trying to capture a crisp detailed and focused image, I purposely made the shot slightly out of focus to create the soft blur.. I then decided to take the processing to the extreme and block out all but a little bit of the image to make it a bit more unusual.. The majority of the background was blacked out with a clone tool, but I chose to leave one section uncloned, this is because through my eyes it almost gave off the idea that the dandelion was casting a glow onto the background, which worked well with how the dandelion resembles fireworks here.. Let me know what you think on this one as I was not 100% sure how it would be welcomed..

  • Floral Fireworks II
    by Jeremy Harrington

    US$3.71–US$98.80

As you can see this is the same image as the original Floral Fireworks that I uploaded earlier.. One of the responses to the original shot was a comment from LocoCow saying that adding some selective colour would really make this is sparkle, so I gave it a go and here we are.. Let me know what you think and whether or not I should keep it on here.. / Thanks for looking!

  • Season's End
    by Jeremy Harrington

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Okay well this morning I felt the urge to get out and finally take some new pics and the first thing that caught my eye was a bunch of dandelions that were starting to break apart.. However I didn’t feel like just taking a plain shot of a dandelion, I felt like doing something a tad more artistic, so today I have a series of three dandelion shots that I have processed in an artistic way to break free of the standard flower macro bounds.. I am open to all feedback because I will only keep shots uploaded that people think are worth being on the sight.. Thanks for having a look! With this particular shot, I attempted to capture the moment of the decline of the dandelion as it begins to fall apart now that Spring has past, and I think I managed to do that (atleast I hope!).. I chose black and white because I believe it often has the power to evoke emotion and mood into an image..

  • A very narrow slot canyon appropriately named Spooky Gulch twists and turns for several hundred meters through a dry desert landscape. Its walls tower many meters overhead while the opening in front of you seems to get smaller and smaller. Those hikers that are both brave and thin enough to fit through will find that they are able to make it to the opposite side. At its narrowest point, the little canyon is only about 30 centimeters wide! [Escalante National Monument] [Spooky Gulch info and photos] / Copyright © 2004 Brian W. Schaller – All rights reserved. • This shot was taken by my girlfriend and is of a butterfly in a maple tree in the last few moments before flight. I then edited it to make all colours de-saturated other than those of the butterfly as you can see. Let me know what you think. I hope you like it, and thanks for looking.
