Just to add a little contrast to my previous barbed wire photo, here is one I took whilst in New Zealand Recently. I loved the way the frost grew on the wire.
Enjoy!

I’m proud to report that this image is used as the cover-image for the 7-inch vinyl ‘Scars’ record by the Canadian punk/hardcore band called Damages / . / This is a fully detailed photo of a real piece of fencing in Weston-super-Mare. I couldn’t resist the paradoxically soft, curvy, lazy loops of unfriendly sharp razor-wire, sitting above the rigidly regular fence! I adjusted the image a little to keep that dark, dark background. / . / Thank you to the Just Lines Group and the Don’t Fence Me In Group for featuring this photo in 2008! / . / Many thanks to the Shapes & Patterns Group for featuring this photo, on July 9th 2009. / . / / .

“Listen a hundred times; ponder a thousand times; speak once.” / - TURKISH PROVERB My son Kane had no idea I was photographing him at this time…He was just wondering sweetly along a path in a local parkland area when suddenly he stopped and leaned on the fence. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing through my viewfinder when he did it. Then when I saw the photograph it just blew me away. Kane is 3 years old in this photograph. This is my all time favourite photograph I’ve taken with my DSLR to date. Played with the colour version in photoshop and am very pleased with the outcome. (black and white ) This was taken with my 300mm Canon lense. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WINNER of the LIVE LOVE DREAM Feel the Emotion Challenge WINNER OF WEEKLY CHALLENGE WINNER OF THE children the power of raw emotion challenge ○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ /
I put my heart and soul into this. It was more or less simbolic of what was me as a child emerging from pain. From an abusive childhood that i can’t bring myself to describe without feeling numb and bewildered to this day. i made this…. doll thing, it’s parts glewed together with barbed wire i made, on a painted canvas. Original artwork still in my possession. The dark style and structure of this piece encourage the feel of being trapped in a nightmare for its audience. If you find this piece appealing you might enjoy artists such as- /
Found object art. This piece is all about how ppl see you. Being or atleast looking different in a small town stirs attention and reaction. I am comfortable with the way i look feel and act. But there are ppl who can’t wrap their narro minds around originality. or thinking differently. or seeing things differently. People judge and they lable, or discreadit you for being you. This is a piece for all of you who think out side of the box. What you interperate from this piece is yours and yours alone.

Butterflies…. soft, delicate & fragile, can break with the slightest touch. They flit through our lives without boundaries, or restriction. Winged creatures of joy & enlightenment. / Fences on the other hand are the very epitome of oppression. They enclose us, keep us in, prevent us from stretching our wings. They are hard, cold & lifeless, like the hearts of those who would oppress us. [multi image montage utilising multiple textures from my own stock]
