I was taking portrait shots of the baby, she´s my cousins, through the kitchen back door window when the baby just latched herself onto the glass by her tongue and almost magnetically began to rise up the window frame. Taking a break from the Capriccios while I decide if the series is complete. / I painted the house years earlier than I got the new ink. / In light that I consider myself fairly perceptive I did not see the similarity between the walls and my skin for months after.

This elderly woman sits at the window and contemplates the world outside. She does not see far beyond the window frame because her world has diminished considerably. Two years ago she was officially diagnosed with dementia after a life threatening surgery and long hospital stay. However, her family and friends noticed a difference in her personality over the last several years. Once a proud and hard working single mom, she raised two children during the 60’s and 70’s at a time when single parenthood was not as widely accepted as it is today. At present, she is reduced to little more than the passive demeanor of a quiet child. She is aware of the reduction in both her mental and physical abilities. She also understands that she is helpless to change anything. / It takes great courage to face the inevitable. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; it accounts for 64 per cent of all dementias. For example right now in the US, Alzeihmer’s has surpassed diabetes and is the sixth leading cause of death. As baby boomers are rapidly approaching the age of retirement it is believed that 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. Caught with Viral fever and resting at home, my temptation to work on doesn’t end. Presenting one more work on light :) This one I sighted few days back when I was li’l resting in Naval Civilian Housing Colony’s rest house. As I left the room way back I thought it might be a good !dea :)) I preferred to post B&W conversion for this. Sure I’m not gonna tempt for color. I have repocessed this image to add some LIGHT :) Hope everyone will enjoy!! Reprocessed in CS3 ( 07.05.2009 ). Equipment : Canon EOS 400D, Canon EF S 10 – 22mm lens. Hand held.

This shot was taken of the window of the original Black Springs Bakery building in Beechworth, Victoria, Australia. It has a very french provincial feel to it, though. This was taken in autumn with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera and a 18-55mm lens.
