I took this photo in my front yard of a slightly withered red rose. The colour of the rose was so saturated that it caught my eye. I then played around with the contrast, exposure, and brightness to end up with this, I hope you like it.

This was painted in Photo Shop on a blank file set at 300 dpi. This painting is NOT photo generated or photo manipulation. This Is Mitch. He is my creation. He is was born in Venice Italy. His mother is Italian his father… well your just going to have to wait till I get his first chapter written. His family moved to the states , NYC, when he was 6. / After his father died his mother (never very caring in the first place) took off and he was left alone to bury his father at the age of 9. The only thing of value he had was a black Journal. After reading it Mitch finds out he is much more than just human. The continence of the journal was the history of his grandfather. Not wanting what happened to his grandfather to happen to him, Mitch takes to the streets. He spent his time growing up on the streets where he met an old blues player who taught him to play a guitar and sing the blues. That’s how he got money, singing on the streets and in joints. With his deep soulful voice and good looks getting a gig was easy. But it wasn’t enough, not for the life he wanted. / So being Italian… It was easy for him to find “other” work. He had learned to knife fight on the streets and became quite good. Then he hooks up with a small time drug lord and so it begins his true life of crime, soon Mitch becomes the right arm man for one of the biggest Mobsters in NYC…… Later , at the height of his success, just 18 Mitch unknowingly kills the Godfather’s nephew in a jealous rage, now he’s their target. / / Copyright / These Images and Writings Do Not Belong To ANY Public Domain. I wasn’t bored…......... :) because I wasn’t doing what I was supposed to be doing…....paying bills and doing housework, he he he, believe me , I made this drag out as long as I possibly could and that was easy because there is no way to time a stinking, huge droplet to fall where you want it to. When the fun was over…....sadly I went back to the reality of the mundane and did what I was supposed to do but with a much happier attitude :) that’s my story and I’m sticking to it :) Photograph of a droplet/eyeball with a background of a painted cement block, / Selective coloring and shadow added.

Image for a challenge using plain white paper. Using long exposure and torchlight to light the area, this is what I came up with. exp – 8 seconds / f3.5 / iso 80 / FL 31mm / eveready torch with piano certificate held in front to diffuse the torchlight, only other props include sticky tape and one sheet of plain white photocopy paper, and lots of patience. At one stage, a rotating multi-coloured disco light was involved, but this was soon abandoned due to the law of physics/light not matching the image in my head :(

My origami calendar The red string of fate is based on a Chinese myth that the gods tie an invisible red string around the ankles of men and women destined to be soulmates. This myth is has been adapted into other east asian cultures as well. I first became familiar with it by watching anime; though in those cases, one would attempt to match up couples by tying their fingers. This image, while on one hand based on that Chinese legend, is one that defines me. With the red thread forming the heart, I frame what is currently my greatest passion: miniature origami. I fold using tweezers, and sometimes with needles (I show a needle here, though for these hearts I only used tweezers as they are not that small). The hearts of paper and string, while representing my passion, also represent my soul, and how my fate is bound by the constraints of life. I’m in my own little world bound by a thread of fate; though my passion lies in a world of paper. While most women primarily use needles for sowing; I primarily use them for tiny origami :P I would adjust the position of the objects here with tweezers, and sometimes got magnetic reactions between the tweezers and the needle. They say opposites attrack… but they are both metal :] Each heart was folded from a 15×15mm piece of paper.
