FIRST TIME PUBLISHED / When I looked outside my restaurant in Broome I saw two cowboyheads sitting on the tables outside and I had a strong urge to make some photo’s. I spook to the two men they where from Fitzroy Crossing. They where watching a crowd of Indeginous Aboriginal men and women ‘hanging’ outside in the Plaza. They where waiting for the local liquorshop to open, In Fitzroy is now a ‘ban’ on alcohol, they told me, so Fitzroy Crossing is now a ‘dry’ Community Miss. / Broome, Western Australia. / Today I received an email stating; CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR IMAGE ‘TYPAN’ is one of 55 images from the PEOPLE & PLANET International Photo Competition. to be published in the 2009 People&Planet; Social Justice & Enviroment Diary, which will be published this month in Australia (2009). / We thought that your image was incredible, and it won from a pool of OVER 1000 images from 316 photographers from around the World! / All funds raised by the People&Planet diary go to Australia’s small non profit organisations which are working to promote social-justice and environmental substainability around the world. /

This is something again a little different. I love Melboourne and some of it’s streets are a mixture of graffiti, half pulled down posters and they end up creating their own edgy feel. I put this one together as a more of a collage with some art over the top. I hope you like it.

Menere is my husband’s auntie from Opper Egypt, close to Nag Hamadi, she was always a bit ‘different’ , smoking sigarettes, walking barefeet, reading date pits, I liked that so we got on really well. She was my favorite auntie….

She also wanted to know what was going on…Rajahstan, India

Location: Two blocks from my Adelaide CBD office, there is a whole lane of these. Can you feel it? Love and care… I have taken this photograph because I’ve seen a lovely picture of love and care before my eyes… / Two years later I went back to the negative, scanned it (with love and care, of course; here I mean taking care for properly balanced lights and shadows above all, with no important details lost, because the photograph was taken in a room with poor light), made some minor corrections (color curves, desaturated, toned…) and added a frame with text. Can you feel it? Love and care… / / — / This is a version with a frame designed to include the title. For a version without the frame, click here please:

This little girl was walking (and driving) on this big high rope with all these pots on her head, wow what a side and what a lovely smile. She had to earn the money for the family, her father learned her cause he used to do it.. now he’s to old so so took over the family business. I felt sad in a way too! Jaisalmar, India
