Sales of this Design? – 2 sales so far :) / ‘Friends Series’ card by Karin Taylor _Friends are siblings God forgot to give us.’ _- Unknown Sisters Fishing is a painting done on canvas textured paper. It was so much fun to paint this one. The inspiration for the stripes on the towels came from the wierdest idea. I was just staring one day at a set of brightly coloured corkboard pins at my eye level on the cupboard and the idea was born! Inspiration comes from all over the place!
Dippy Love card by Karin Taylor for all the little girls you know / A digital design from The Shed Studio
A portrait of a relaxed woman, head tilted back, afro freshly fluffed with beautiful ornaments called paisley. This portrait is framed by a lacey oval shape topped with a paisley flower, stylized stem shapes, 2 more paisleys and crowned with a 3D wireframe object enclosed in a round of flowers. This is a piece further inspired by other original paisley pen sketches I have made and a deeper experiment of the most recent “Paisley Tresses”. One major idea behind this is the substitution of the main object and it being replaced with a different object of choice. Not a brand new idea but another interpretation of those great ideas that other artists have used for many years in some POP art pieces. 3-9-2008

This family of 8 is not homeless (though I’m sure they are close to it) The photo was taken in July 2007, the hottest summer I have ever experienced, though probably an annual thing for the locals of Morocco. The family was sleeping on the roof because the days were reaching 45 Celsius, and the nights were not much better. Everyone stayed in the shade during the days and came out at night to go about their business. Even small children were up till 2am. Needless to say, it made my trip exhausting but exciting. Fes or Fez (Arabic فاس [Fās], French Fès) is the third largest city in Morocco, after Casablanca and Rabat, with a population of 946,815 (2004 census). It is the capital of the Fès-Boulemane Region. Fes is one of the four so-called “imperial cities” (the others are Marrakech, Meknes and Rabat). The Medina of Fes el Bali, the largest of the two medinas of Fes, is believed to be the largest contiguous car-free urban area in the world. Fes el Bali is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
