Single monarch butterfly enjoying a pink wildflower.
This ladybug was scuttling across a leaf when it disappeared from sight. Holding the camera in one hand while flipping the leaf over to make its underside and the cleverly disappearing ladybug visible again, I managed to get this shot. It took some doing, but the results were okay. Moral of the story: inviting a partner to come along with you could simplify the challenge of macro photography.
“This leopard mother with her two juvenile sons were sleeping their siesta. Lazily lying on a rock, they naturally composed by themselves a pretty collage. Each individual bears a unique pattern in different hues. / / Their bodies aligned in a way that formed a triangle among them. The spots are unique in their shape and design, creating all together a puzzle of sheer beauty.” / / ============================================================= / All proceeds from the sale of this piece of artwork will be donated to the Snow Leopard Trust. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——- Carmen, creator of Art for Conservation

Rabbits are ground dwellers that live in environments ranging from desert to tropical forest and wetland.Nearly half of the world’s rabbit species are in danger of extinction; many are among the most vulnerable of all mammals. / Rabbits kept in a home as pets for companionship are referred to as house rabbits. They typically have an indoor pen and a rabbit-safe place to run and exercise, such as a living or family room. Rabbits are easily trained to use a litter box and can learn to come when called. House rabbits are quiet pets, but are unsuitable for households with small children as they are easily frightened by loud noises and can be harmed by mishandling.
Phoebe card / taken from an original Mixed Media Production / by Karin Taylor from the Beach Series The original painting was actually sold to a lovely friend of mine who teaches at my son’s school…..she has twins and one of them is named Phoebe! Coccinella septempunctata, the seven-spot ladybird (or, in North America, seven-spotted ladybug or seven-spotted lady beetle), is the most common ladybird in Europe. Its elytra are of a red colour, but punctuated with three black spots each, with one further spot being spread over the junction of the two, making a total of seven spots. (wikipedia.org)
This is my second Cat Tupf. Due to his black & white fur he is a tough one to get pictured (over/underexposure, etc.). With a long over due, stone old ISO125 Black & White by Kodak (it expired about 5 years ago), and my 50mm lense, I finally was able to produce that shot… Well.. the eyes I photoshopped and also the nose, I admit that much ;c) ... / Stupid me, I didn’t safe the psd file. ... Eitherway, thought I’d introduce the 3rd important male in my life :D

A feral cat that was rescued from some abusive teenagers only to be abandoned by his rescuers(I’m using that term very losely). He was left behind on my friend’s back patio & he never left her back yard. So I made sure he got food, water & some lovin’ & he waited for me to come. He was so friendly even after all that he’d been through. That just blew me away for some reason. My friend ended up moving & I wasn’t about to leave him behind as the idiots that brought him had done. People make me so angry sometimes! He had to stay outside since none of my cats were about to let him come in. They can be jerks like that. Anyway, he hung around for almost a year but I haven’t seen him now in over six months. I still look for him everywhere. We called him Lil’ Boy. FEATURED in the group All Soft and Cuddlies!
The serval is one of seven species of small to medium-sized African cats. It has a slender build with long legs. Its back legs are longer than its front legs. It has a small head, large erect rounded ears and a long neck. Its coat is yellowish tan with black spots, bands and stripes. The tails has black rings and its underside is white or light tan. The pattern of every serval’s coat is different. Servals are found in many parts of Africa, but not in the equatorial jungles or the Sahara. It is most commonly found in East African savannas, usually near water. They prefer areas of scrub bush, tall grass and dry reed beds that are near streams. They will not be found hunting in an open dry savanna where there is inadequate cover. They have also adapted to higher altitudes in Kenya. Black servals can be found in Kenya’s high country provided there is a source of water near by. It has an excellent sense of hearing and can locate prey that is moving underground. Once it hears its prey, the serval will quietly approach and then leaping, will pounce on it. Often, they will play with their meal before consuming it. This cat has a number of different vocalizations which include snarling, growling, spitting, purring and a high pitched cry used to call other servals. They are successful hunters and eat a wide variety of prey, which includes rodents, small ungulates, An animal with hooves. The ungulates are divided into two classes the even-toed ungulates such as the deer, giraffes and antelopes; and the odd-toed ungulates such as horses, zebras and rhinoceroses. birds, lizards, frogs and insects. Their success rate is high at about 50% (lions are about 30% successful). They are also well known in East Africa for raiding farmer’s poultry. They require a fresh kill and will eat carrion Dead and decaying flesh. only under extreme circumstances.
My father-in-law is nearly 81, and holding on to his way of living, taking care of his appartment, fending for himself, and looking after his ailing girlfriend as well. Walking to her appartment everyday to help her with the daily chores, to do the necessary errands, and to make sure that she takes her medication properly. Walking back to his place in the evening, doing his own housework, laundry, sweeping and shoveling, choosing to maintain two households instead of moving in with his girlfriend, holding on dearly to his independance. Stubbornly holding on to his dignity, refusing to use the cane that could help him when he gets the occasional bout of dizziness. Choosing to do all this hard work instead of going to a retirement home, holding on fiercely to his pride and autonomy. Taking care of his son and grandsons, always making sure that they are well and happy, that they have everything they need. Holding on lovingly to his fathership. Going on through life, with the constant pain in his joints, the weight of all those years pressing down on his shoulders and on his heart, just holding on… Focal length 55mm / ISO-200 / Aperture f/5,6 / Shutter 1/13 sec. “Into the light” was taken in a train station tunnel to Heidelberg this winter, as the shadow and I were heading to a party. To emphasis the light and shadow reflections I PS’d the frame in a way that the figure becomes part of the dark black ink spot – a shadow. I leveled it to dismiss the direction vector so that the viewer will not know if the image is going backward or forward – after all, shadows never follow the light. The layers were merged into the light. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. /
